Wow is this a scam?

Was browsing craigslist just for the heck of it and came across this:

2006 mahindra best 7520 tractor

Wow 6 grand for a 7520 either its a scam or he has some problems. RIGHT???

I know there were some issues w/ a gear in the motor that runs ,I think, the hydraulic pump(someone please correct me on this if I am wrong) but even if a person had to do a little work to it, for under 500 hour on the machine.

Well just thought I would post it to see what others thought and let any potential shoppers know this is out there.

Scam for sure. I report everything I notice like that. They often have really nice pictures, often the background landscape does not look local and the price is always too good to be true. Cool looking tractor I have to say.

And, when buying from Craigslist with a good sum of cash, I would suggest meeting for payment somewhere other than at his place in the bojacks. Lots of folks have been robbed/killed using Craigslist to dangle the bait.

Just put it up for info for anyone interested and discussion I have a 2011 5530 so no need for me just thought it was a bit cheap for a real tractor. But, like ya say, ya dont know till you ask.

Right. I have bought quite a bit off of Craigslist, but have to admit that I have bailed on a few when the place did not look right.

please digress on how a "scammer" could utilize a database...or did you mean "spammer" which is hardly the case with these types of CL scams/listings...

The best way is to click on "prohibited" rather than send a message. But you beter be sure.

IMO...if you want to spend the time...a way to (somewhat) deter CL scammers is to send them an original message asking some questions about the item...(the only way they can be successful is if they get some interest)...
Doing this gives you a return address and a domain/service provider that can be reported to the FBI Internet fraud division...

Normally if it's a scam and you ask if you can come and see the item...they will tell you that it has already been crated and ready for shipping...just send them $ via W.U. etc...etc...and await delivery...:laughing:

In Dayton Ohio it is usually a nice car or motorcycle. You stop by some dead end street and get to meet some thugs close up. It makes it the same game only the bait gets changed. All that you have to do is watch the 7 am news. It works 3 or 4 nights a week. You will get a education.

I've always thought the biggest tip-off of these scams are the odd asking prices. What kind of private seller asks $6117 for something. They are the same way by me... like a 2013 polaris sportsman crew for like $2741.

It's probably a scam. I usually figure its a scam when I send an Email to the poster saying I want to schedule a time to come look at the item. When they reply, the item is usually 3 or 4 states away. They try to offer a payment gaurantee by having a third party company hold the money claiming they don't get the money until I receive the item and inspect it.
If the price is too good to be true it usually is.
