Its just odd that as I mentioned using a Heavy equipment FEL that has hydraulic steering and the steering wheel on this piece of equipment doesn't clock around as much if at all and everytime I return FEL to go straight the steering wheel returns to center but here JD I have and others here have doesn't, you'd think there would be some type of centering valve/module within the unit itself to accomodate this problem to keep the wheel from clocking around...idk...I know a buddy in town who has a larger JD Compact Tractor and he's a Mechanic here in Town and he says his doesn't clock around if at all, not sure of the model JD he has but......I may just get a new unit to install and then rebuild the one I take out and use/have as a spare.

I will today when I use the tractor to work outside and I'll post on my findings to everyone......I was wondering to how much does everyone have there front tires toed inward, I have mine toed inward about 3/16" total is this enough or should it be more/less to help with my steering issues ?

When JD built that 318, we were fortunate just to have any power steering. 
Would be interested to hear what your mechanic has for his compact JD.
And how the timing test goes too.

IIRC back when I PDI'd new tractors I set the toe end at between 1/8-1/4" so 3/16 should be fine
