Didn't do much today, took care of the critters, lunch with friends, then off to TSC to get scratch feed and softener salt. Dropped salt off at the shop, then home, another round of critter care. I am going out in a bit to water the aspharagus, then mulch with wood chips. That will be my project for today!! Too hot to work outside for me.

hot hot hot here too. Just drains you if you go in and out of a/c.
well, the windows are sparkling and the stone front has had its mortar repaired, all the painting touchup done, and
I am left with my boxing in the basement.
Someday, if I'm good, I'll get out of the basement...;)

first estimate from the moving company was twenty grand. About double what I expected. He said it's all about weight and mileage.
Looks like I might be making a lot of trips hauling my own stuff, but the tractors are 22 and 26 feet long and trailers that size are not easily found with ratings
not exceeding 10K. I can pull a fifth wheel rv up to 28,000 pounds without any special license, but haul some tractors, seems I'm restricted to 10K.
problem is all the 10k rental trailers I'm seeing are all smaller and intended I guess for skid steers, excavators, whatever.
might have to start a thread in transportation; I'm getting palpitations from these quotes...

and now, like a bad troll, summoned back to the basement.
Home stretch.

2014-07-23,

About 63 and a bit muggy right now. Today's prediction is a high of 85 and probably rain.

Was that including moving your tractors and implements?
You might want to consider uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves for the equipment and use the moving company strictly for your furniture and personal items.

thanks Roy, someone else had mentioned that but my fears are that one only gets the low bidder that way and you have zero idea who is moving your stuff.
But I will check it out. Yes, it was for everything.

66 out, going to be a hot and muggy day until the storms come in tonight and hopefully cool things off.

No CDL. 9990 max weight allowed
truck will pull 17K on the ball and 28K on the gooseneck, but
with a plain jane license, everyone and their brother has told me the above.

I did just put a bid in on UShip. Very easy to do. Will report how it works.

Maybe just hire someone with a CDL to drive your truck?
