Why not just call your dealer and ask them? You would have had the answer two days ago, and you'd know it was correct.

If you later go to sell it, and they don't believe what you tell them, give them the serial #, and they can call an LS dealer, or contact LS themselves. Nothing we're going to come up with here is official, so it always comes back to contacting the manufacturer, or a dealer.

I did. They didn't know.That was before I posted here. Today I called the parts dept in N.C. The guy I talked to was very helpful and informative. He explained to me that there is no way one can determine the year of a LS tractor by its serial # unless you possess a referance chart which he had. He told me that this referance chart just became available to him in the last two weeks. He looked up the serial # of my tractor and told me it was built October 22 2012. I assumed it was a 2013 or 2014 it being new. Now I know. This referance chart is not yet available to the public but I would guess that it will be in the near future.

Hey Ozley, yes I understand that. And I have no problem it being a 2012. I just wanted to know what year my tractor was.
Now I can sleep at night. lol.

Intresting. I don't have that additional engine data tag. Must be something new with theses new teir 4 engines.

I don't think there is such a thing as a true Tier IV G3033. I'm pretty sure they were all Interim Tier IV, which is different. It almost looks like that data tag is intended for California, because it mentions CA emissions regulations...odd.

So what are the differences between the interim Tier IV and the Tier V ?

Interim Tier IV was a 2011 standard, and not quite as restrictive as Tier IV Final. I'm not sure about the exact differences, but LS went from Mitsubishi engines in the Tier IV Interim models (R series) to a Shibaura Tier IV Final engine in the XR series. Usually the difference is at least the addition of a diesel particulate filter, and sensors/computers to track when a regen is necessary, but I haven't paid any attention to the finer details.

Thanks for the information. My 2012 2030 shows a Tier 4 engine but doesn't have any of that regen component's you speak of.
