Please help with new M5140 3-point hitch

Something is definitely wrong. You would not even be able to raise a rear blade at all. In fact you would have to have the top link retracted quite a bit to even get hitched up.

Contact the dealer and let them fool with it, that's one of the reasons of purchasing a new tractor. You've paid to have him deal with these things, inform him of the problem and have him deal with it, because it certainly is not right. :no:

I'd love to do that. Problem is, the dealer I bought it from is 3 hours away. I certainly don't want to have to trailer it that far.

From what research I've done, it seems that I need to adjust the feedback rod. Now, if I only knew of its location and how to adjust it...

On your top link of the three point;try the top hole(the picture has it in the bottom hole of the tractor)mine is in the top hole(L4240) and I don't have a problem.

That would give me even less range. I'm pretty confident that its the feedback rod adjustment. The 3 point doesn't even begin to lift until the lifting lever is over 3/4 of the way up. In other words, say the highest the lifting lever can go is 10, it doesn't begin to lift until after 7. 7 and below, the implement is on the ground.

If you are not going to rely on the dealer, then you need to get yourself a shop manual, plain and simple. I understand the dealer thing, my 2 new tractor dealers were 2600 and 650 miles away. I NEVER planed on trailering them back for ANYTHING.

There's a local dealer, I just prefer not to deal with them which is why I chose to go out of town for the purchase...that and 1500 other reasons

I'm hoping my dealer can walk me through what needs to be done to remedy the situation.

Check out post #3. The rod is at the top of the left lift cylinder. Shorten it for more lift. Too short and the FEL doesn't work because the hydraulic pump will go into relief at the top of the lift (3PH lever all the way back).

How'd I miss that? Thanks. Hopefully, this is the solution.

Since I have rear remotes, guess I'll go ahead and get a hydraulic top link while I'm at it.
