Ouch, that's quite a bump on the noggin.
I moved fire wood on Saturday and only broke the rear window out of the pickup.

am guessing that son learned something from it...never know, he may take greater care in the future with various activities...and that is a good thing.

one of the sons was about 7 ... I was working under the car ,,,,, he was playing with a 3 pound sledge that was beside me ... so I'm on my back under the car ( on a creeper ) he drops the hammer ,,, uhhhh , well I was walking funny for awhile ....

Never really gets easier - ours are both 13 and one of them clubs me with something about every other time they are "helping" - the sad thing is after a while you start to get used to it.

Hey my boy is 24 years old and is a grown man in all respects........I still have to duck, side step and juke and jive when he's around to help....
Enjoy every minute, headaches, stitches, bruises and all (I've had a few including a broken collar bone). It will not be long until they are engineers, artists and fashion designers out on their own in far flung places. I sometimes miss the days when they were little guys and WANTED to help daddy with the latest project. Sure they slowed me down back then, now I wish they were here slowing me down now.

When he is a teenager you will look back on this event and yearn for the days of being hit in the head with a piece of oak. At least now, while a hurts a bit, you can probably sleep at night just fine. But wait until he 16 with his brand new drivers license and he is supposed to be home at 11:00 pm and wanders in about 1 in the morning. No call, even though he can't be 2 feet away from his cell phone. As a parent, we don't sleep until they are home safely.
So, I say, enjoy the head wound. It only gets worse.
