Yanmar 186D hydraulics problem

I have a 186D with front end loader it's plumbed into the rear as in the pic when I use the loader it makes a load humming noise like its starving for oil, when I engage the lever for the rear 3pt it squeals.

I'm new to the tractor and don't know anything about tractors as this is my first, the dip stick under the seat is showing oil, where is the hydraulic pump located for the 3pt?

The pump is on the right side of the engine. Look at Figure 55 of your parts manual. Note the screw on filter. Then look at Figure 39 and reference number 30. That is your suction strainer. I am not saying either of these is your problem but if you are correct in thinking it is starving for oil then this is the place to look. The suction strainer on the 186 is up high on the transmission so you can pull it without draining the transmission. It is behind reference number 21 shown on Figure 35.

Not there to see the other end but I believe those two hoses go to your loader. One is the inlet to the loader and the other is the return. That is an axillary outlet block they are coming off of. Hoye sells manuals for it. Assuming you are wanting the operational and/or service manual. Yanmar Tractor Parts: MANUALS

Does the hydraulic pump pump oil into the trans housing? Is this to run the 3pt link? Is there a reason why the 3pt would squeal when you hit the leaver? I found the pump and oil filter as you mentioned does this use oil from the trans as that is showing oil,do you have a picture of the strainer as I don't have any manuals yet.

Your 3 point control valve under the seat should have a litte t handle on it. Is it opened counter clock wise?

Hi Winston I removed the strainer and it appears to be blocked as in the picture, can this filter be cleaned out or is it a throw away item? The tee handle screw under the seat was closed clock wise does this control the 3pt linkage?

Strainer is cleanable. The handle under the seat should be open counter clockwise. I am not sure on the 186 whether it controls drop speed of the 3 point. Some models have another handle on the side for that such as a 2000. My 2002d only has the one and it serves as a stop valve and slow descent valve. I think that is the way yours operates but this needs to be confirmed by someone that really knows. In any event the valve does not need to be completely shut unless you are wanting to lock the 3 point in the up position.

Hi winston I fitted the strainer after cleaning, the hydraulics on the front end loader are working much better and the pump is sounding like its not working no were near as hard as it was so I'm very happy.
I opened the tap under the seat counter clock wise as you said and the squeal has stopped, there's another tap on the side as in the picture








what does this do? There's also a handle there and a foot pedal how do these operate the 3pt? I have the backhoe mounted to the rear of the tractor so I can't play with the 3pt to work it out.
