I looked at several toolbox ideas and finally came up with this one. I happened to have the toolbox laying around (that's why it is so dirty). I mounted it on the cross member that runs between the fenders by welding 2 1/8" by 1" x 5" pieces of flat steel across the support and then running bolts down through the inside of the tool box to attach it to the cross member. So far, I'm pretty happy with it. I just needed someplace to keep a few tools, pins and spare shear bolts for my bush hog. Maybe this will help someone else who is looking for toolbox ideas.

I need to do something similar. I need to relocate the SMV placard also, I'd like to put it on the rops.

I usually take the smv triangle off unless I'm traveling on the road, they're a pia.

My SMV and toplink decided they both wanted to be in the same place at the same time. SMV lives in the barn, now. I don't drive the tractor on the roads here - there's no shoulders and people just don't pay attention.

Nice toolbox, Vulcan - is that a reciprocating saw case?

No, it is a Craftsman toolbox, one that is supposed to fit under the seat of a truck.

My L2800 came with a small toolbox in the location you mounted yours. It was only about 12"L X 3"W X 3"H. I found this Speeco at Rural King that was 20"L X 6"W X 5.5"H. Had to drill a hole to adapt it and had to move the bracket on my SMV triangle.
