Kubota B3200
I've been looking to upgrade my John Deere 2305 and I have been needing (wanting :D) a loader.

Tried 3 times to buy a 2720 from the JD dealer 3 miles down the road from me but they didn't want my money.

Stopped by the local Kubota dealer and looked at a B3200 they had. Nice... It was late and I was talking to the owner who told me to talk to his salesman. I called him the next morning. That was almost 3 weeks ago and he has never called me back.

So I called the Kubota dealer in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I bought a 4' box blade from then when I was working over there last year.

I was thinking of a B2920 but they did not have any left, but they did have a B3200....:)

In a couple days we had a deal worked out and the following Saturday I loaded up my 2305 and Dad and I went on a little road trip.

Traded the 2305, 4' rotary cutter and 4' box blade for a B3200 w/ FEL, 5' Landpride cutter and 5' box blade.

I've been able to get a few hours on her and getting used to it a bit. Here is a picture of it all loaded at the dealer and one when we got it unloaded.

Good looking equipment... bet you can't wait to get a little dirt on it?

Thanks.

All ready did that. Neighbor had a big brush pile that needed burnt. They are an older couple and the pile was only about 3' high and was just getting bigger.

Pushed it in a bit, burnt it off, then cleaned up the rest. Used my pulverizer to rake up the ground so they could seed it. Next chore was to clean out our drainage ditch.

More dirt to come...

You will be smiling every time you use it.

Like the others said, nice setup. Have fun and be careful. Spend too much time on that tractor and the Mrs. will get jealous! LOL!

Pretty much any time I can get on a tractor I am smiling. One of the best toys, er, I mean tools ever invented.

She new this when we got married, and she already has some seat time as well.

That's exactly the setup I want to get. I'm new to tractors, but have been doing research for 2 years. What size bucket did you go with and why? From what I understand the 54" is lighter and easier to maneuver and dig with compared to the 60" Is this correct? Help educate me about this. Also did you go with the quick attach or not, and why not? Is it gimmicky? Does it weaken the loader digging ability?

Also, from reading online reviews about the B3200, I read that they used to have a vibration or whine that happens at over 2000 rpms, and sometimes way less than that. Is that true? Have you noticed anything like that? I don't know if you're past the break in period or not, but please let me know. That is the only thing holding me back. I am thinking of going with the B3300SU, but it doesn't do a mid-mount mower and no mid PTO, and the other option is the B2920, which I have considered, but they don't have any in stock. So let me know about this vibration issue.

I've owned a B7800, B3200 and B2320 and currently own a B2620 alng with several BXs. This "vibration" you refer to is not an issue for "most" tractor owners. There is some vibration at different RPMs on different tractors. The FEL, BH, other implements and the ROPS all seem to have some influence but it is not a problem or any reason to avoid because of it. I went from a BX25 to a B2620 so the vibration of the B2620 was more noticeable but after using it for awhile and accepting that it's a diesel engine tractor and not a automobile/truck gas engine (some people expect tractors to run/shine/sound like cars) then the vibration isn't a problem. Go try the one your wanting to buy and see if it's a deal breaker for you. My feeling is that if it is you may not be a candidate for tractor owning.:)

Thanks John Thomas! I consider you an expert on this issue.

I used a new B3200 that my brother in law just purchased. It was new and not past break in period. Sure, it rattled and roared but it seemed fine. I realize diesel engines are different. But people who have had way more experience than me with diesels were complaining. So I just thought it'd be an issue. But I drove it around for a while and it seemed fine. I really liked the smooth ride, the power steering, how easy it was to operate the bucket. It was much smoother than what I was expecting. Just wanted some feedback from people more educated than myself on this issue.

I could really use a tractor right now. Makes life so much easier and so much cheaper than paying for labor. If I could just haul the mulch around and dump it where it needs to be, that would be worth it to me.

And thoughts on bucket size? Advantages and disadvantages of bigger and heavier vs smaller. And how about quick attach?

If you plan on many hours of PTO work the vibration might bother you (it's mostly in the high rpm range around PTO speed). For general use the vibration isn't an issue as you don't generally run the tractor at full speed. I find for most loader work the tractor works best between 1800-2000rpms and they run very smooth there. Same thing for grading, towing, most 3pt hitch work, etc.

I personally think the 60" bucket is just too large for a B-series tractor, unless you are just using it as a light materials bucket. The 54" bucket is all you want for gravel, dirt, sand, rock, etc. It's also the same width as the outside of the tires which makes it nice for getting in small places. 54" bucket will also give you more digging power.

The Kubota pin-type quick coupler is a good option. My tractor didn't come with it but I added it later and I'm glad I did. Not only does it make it easy to change between attachments, but it also is nice when you just want to drop the bucket for mowing or something without taking the whole loader off. Aside from the 54" and 60" buckets, Kubota also has a set of forks and WR Long makes a grapple to fit it. Its also an easy system to make attachments for if you are so inclined.

Nice looking machine, rtgt!
Any projects planned for your new helper?

We've had our B3300SU since Feb 24 and we love it. We've used more than we ever imagined we would. I pulled this two bottom plow in some pretty wet soil just fine at about 2,000 rpm. I know the vibration you speak of but it's no problem. It's really a great tractor.

Plowed my new quarter acre garden in less than 1.5 hours and it was my first time ever using any implement on a tractor.

Well, it worked perfectly. It was my first ever use of an implement of any kind and the first garden I've ever plowed. And, it's a rented plow; first one I'd ever seen in person. I read everything I could and watched every "how to" video I could. Also got some good advice from jeff9366 on this forum. It probably took me and my brother-in-law 45 minutes to hook it up and somewhat level it and another 10 minutes of leveling after the first pass. Then I plowed that quarter acre of 5 year fallow hay field in less than 1.5 hrs. If you were closer to PA I'd be interested in buying yours. I've never seen a decent used one for sale and I've looked a lot.

$300. Makes it worth the road trip to come get it! :D
