I don't think I've had any problem with the ads on TBN until this morning. But the Lindt chocolate banner ad "Build the perfect Easter Basket" completely blocks things like "Mark All Read".

I had to leave TBN for a while, due to some of the banner ads, and the video ads. While I understand ads help pay the bills, and provide a free forum for us, when they become so obtrusive, and so bandwidth intensive that they remove the fun from the forum, they step over the line, and actually hurt participation.
I am lucky. I have not seen the Lindt ad! If I did, I'd probably begin craving dark chocolate, as soon as my blood pressure lowered from the annoyance of the ad!

I'm accustomed to going to TBN several times a day, click on "New Posts", open the ones I want to read in new tabs, then click on "Mark All Read". That ad was preventing me from getting to the "Mark All Read" icon and I could only see the "N" of New Posts. However, I went to do something else and just came back and that banner ad isn't there this time.
And speaking of dark chocolate (which I, too, am fond of), have you tried Braum's "Deep Chocolate" (instead of dark chocolate) ice cream? At least it's a very dark color and I really like it, although my wife doesn't.

That banner ad is back again. Remind me to never buy any Lindt chocolate.:laughing:
As for the knee replacement, I had just the right one done on 8/30/2010. I cannot bend that knee quite as far as the original, but otherwise no problem and no pain.

Haven't tried the ice cream, bird. I don't eat much ice cream. I don't have a big sweet tooth. I buy the Lindt dark chocolate candy bars, and put them in the freezer. 2 large ones will last a year or more. I just go break off a piece when I get a craving, and leave the rest in the freezer. So, a serving of ice cream once a year is about it for me, if I have that much. If I bought it and brought it home, it would go bad before half the pint was gone!

Bird, there was quite a discussion on the ads a while back... some humorous. But when the risque ads started showing up here and there, I didn't find it very funny. I don't want them on the pages I visit. I use firefox, and downloaded an adblocker that eliminates all of them.
We'll get that ad blocked.

Talking about Braums ice cream!!!!! I was their maintenance supervisor for all stores from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. Excellent food and ice cream.

Yep, we buy all our ice cream at Braum's and I prefer buying our milk there. The milk is not only as good as, or better than, Walmart and the other grocery stores, it's cheaper than Walmart, especially at the old Braum's in Lewisville. If it weren't for my weight, I'd give them even more business; sure do like the old fashioned banana splits.:laughing:

as an ad covering major menu items.

I was finally able to block it just now... should be gone within a few minutes. I also got the ad myself and it was messing up my screen as well.
