Another option if you have a good relationship with a local dealer (or other business) is to have it delivered there and go pick it up if you have a way to load it there.

I'm thinking you'll be ok, but that's a good suggestion. Always good to a have a back up plan and a nearby business that'll let you use a loading dock is good to keep in the pocket.

I took the same kind of delivery -- 320 lbs of box blade from EA situated at the back end of a semi trailer -- with my former BX1860. Strapped it to the FEL, removed it from the truck, and drove it 200 feet to the other end of my driveway. It worked fine. And with a BX25 with a hoe on the back, you'll be in better shape than I was.

You could always use the hoe to lift it,
and have the truck slowly pull forward, then drop it in the ground and then use your loader,
couldn't you.

We are just waiting to hear how it went. Personally I think it is a non-issue.. just pick it off the truck and go on.

I unloaded a KK 48" box blade (295 lbs + pallet) and a KK 48" tiller (534 lbs + pallet) using the BXpanded forks on my BX24, no problem at all. This was off the bed of my pickup, which is 36". There was plenty of lift height for that but don't know how much higher a semi bed height is. I was on a fairly level driveway.

The heavier tiller did make me a bit nervous, and I just backed far enough to clear the tailgate and then dropped it way down to actually start moving around with it. I store most of my implements on pallets to be able to move them around, and it's never a problem. I'm not understanding the recommendations of some to remove the box blade from the pallet first? Is that just to lighten the load?

Wow, great replies everyone. Well I came up with the same advice as Poopdeck Pappy did. The local Ag mill/supply store is super friendly and agreed to accept the shipment for me. It's ordered and on it's way! They'll fork it onto my trailer.

Then when I get it home, I'll be able to play with it and the forks as much as I like!! I'll be sure to update this thread when the blade arrives.

Thanks everyone for the good thinking on this. Seems like I could have had it delivered and not run into an issue. The way I see it, this way I'm getting truly free shipping for the cost of a 10 minute drive to the local business.

More in a few days! We'll see how fast they ship this thing.

I would be willing to bet you can lift it off of the trailer and raise it to full height with nothing more than the backhoe on the back. and never lift a tire.
Assuming level solid ground of course. That is my story and I am sticking to it.:)

I bought a 72" box blade from Everything attachments. It came to a loading dock about 5 miles away. Piece of cake getting it and free. Just needed a pick up or trailer and can get it within a few days rather than having to be there when it arrives. Save the $80. That said, I'm sure your machine will pick it up. Just make sure you have some weight on the back. A mower or back blade.

Order it ,cut the bands and lift just box blade off then throw pallet on ground. Done quick and easy
Keep track of that pallet... never know where it might end up. Maybe in a field somewhere. :D

Around here a good pallet is like gold. Nothing makes me happier than getting a good one. That way when the wife makes me go to Home depot and buy pavers, bushes, fancy topsoil, or something else I can stack them on the pallet in the truck bed and use the tractor to lift it out. My back loves pallets!!

I think you will be fine unloading it. When I bought mine they delivered it to where I work and I had it loaded into my truck, all I had at the time was my Ford 961 so I used my parents old B8200 to unload it. The old B has a BF350 loader on it and I'm not sure what it is rated at but it lifted it out of the bed of the truck with no issues.

It helps to have a buddy to keep the object from swinging while one is lifting. I took a tiller out of my truck by myself but could have used a helper. The lifting was no problem.

Additional thoughts: 1. Not sure what the capabilities of the your BH are but I use mine (B26TLB) with a short choker to lift/move all my attachments in and out of the barn and my truck. 2. Extend the BH out behind the tractor and use as counter weight, slight arc swings left or right also correct for any un-level ground. 3. If reach and arc of BH are limited or you're concerned about moving with load on FEL - have the truck drive out from under after you have the load.

Aaaaaannnd we're on a bit of delay. The EA website got me thinking these things were in stock and they're not. Taking a look at their website:

Tractor Box Scrapers- Box Blades

Take a look at the United products (scroll maybe half way down). They all say "Out of Stock". Well, this made me think that the other equipment (most all EA gear) was IN stock. This is NOT the case!!!

Confusing at best, a bit misleading at the worst, but it is what it is.

I called them today and they said they don't really know when it will ship. Kind of a bummer.

Bottom line, I haven't forgotten about this thread! I'll be back with an update as soon as it shows up...

I used a BX24 and the same forks to unload a 4' box blade from the tractor trailer. It worked out okay. The mistake I made was once it was picked up and backed away from the truck it lowered too fast and got to scary bouncing as I tried to control it. Nothing bad happened and after dropping the engine speed it came down gently. The next heavy implement ordered, I got the truck lift option and moved it onto a 3pt utility platform. It just felt better driving on hard top with the weight on the back rather out front on those skinny front tires.
