Driveway hill French drains on my recent home purchase. Roadway would wash out with a big rain or spring thaw. The trenches were 200 feet on both sides, with four cross trenches. The trenches were 20 inches deep, 16 inches wide, with 4 inch drain tile, and washed septic stone fill. 65 tons drainage fill, and 65 tons of gravel for the hill road surface. This was done in the fall of 2012. I haven't had to do any further work of the hill since.
