Tractor
Branson 4520r
Just bought a new branson 4520r. Within 2 hours it broke. I was digging soft dirt. As I was pushing dirt forward I heard a loud snap. Then the 4x4 quit working. Then I heard strange noises coming from the rear end. A creaking noise . I also have diesel leaking all over the rear end of the tractor. I'm sure that is unrelated. I also heard noise while lifting the with the loader. I also have almost no brakes while I was digging and pushing dirt. This is my first new tractor. I have owned a ht20 bolens for the last 29 years. I have saved up for quite some time to buy a new tractor. I thought I was buying a the best tractor for my money. I am impressed by the fit and finish . I am impressed by the lifting power . I have a good friend that has a new holland 1720 with 2000 plus hours , digging and pushing hard pack dirt with zero failure . Are today's tractors not meant to due that kind of work? I plan to move log to my sawmill. btw This is a shuttle shift tractor. I would like to get some input from other branson owners with any type of warranty issues. Should I just trade this thing off or did I just get that one in a million bad tractors that was made on a Monday or a Friday . Thanks tt

First of all, welcome to TBN.
As far as your tractor goes it should be covered under warranty if you just bought it. It's possible you got one built on a Monday or Friday as you say. Let the dealer fix it or exchange it if possible. From time to time there are problems with every type of new vehicle.

"I have saved up for quite some time to buy a new tractor. I thought I was buying a the best tractor for my money" I have to ask why a off brand? I am sure it's covered under warranty. but if one did it i not sure i would take a chance on it happing again

Branson certainly can't be called "off brand" .. They have been around for some time.

OP ... I have owned a Branson and found the dealer network and the warranty to be outstanding .. Contact your dealer

Off brand? They been around quite awhile.Maybe he did not feel the need to spend and extra $4,000-$5,000 for a JD or Kubota.I trust me I own both.I guess my Kioti tractor is off brand to?LOL.To the OP check with your branson dealer it might be something simple to fix.

I purchased my 2400H new and have three warranty repairs. One of them was what I would consider a serious assembly error and my dealer took care of the problem with no questions asked. I have found my dealer to be very good at honoring warranty problems. I would quit using this tractor and contact your dealer.

In my opinion spend the extra dollars go first class and you never have to worry about it maybe they will fix it under warranty. If it were me i would tell them i want a name brand tractor they can have that cheapo stuff back And YES i have looked at Kioti Tractors drove 72 miles to look and them and i am glad there 72 miles away they look and fell so cheep pay the extra money go first class you wont have to worry about it folding like a cheap watch. Sorry if this offends you but what if they dont cover that tractor under warranty then what he going to do?

TO FUNNY !!Spend the the extra money and not have to worry about it.You think JD & Kubota don,t break?Better do some research. Not offended by dumb comments from folks that have no clue.PS.My 2011 deere did break and spent 2 weeks in the shop waiting for a part.It had a whopping 44 hours on it.Research the Kubota RTV 900 drive shaft rattle and hard to get out of gear issues.H,mm get the point?

No the warranty should be about the same but there is a abuse clause in there which they might try to stick him with. but about spending the extra money buying first class you dont have to worry about it breaking like a cheap watch. sure you might have a few issue ext but they wont fold up in that extra 4 grand you talking about you also paying for engineering not a coped replica. then if you every go to sell it name brand will sell better than off brand. just my thoughts. If it makes you mad sorry.. hope it works out for him.

Wait, are you trying to say that my Kubota won't "fold like a cheap watch"?

I thought that's what you said, but I wasn't sure.;)

To the op: sounds like it's time to go back to the dealership. Hope they can help.

WD5,

Out of curiosity, what is the warranty period on a "name brand" tractor? And the last time I checked I believe every brand has an abuse or neglect clause.

Camastown,

A really dumb question and I don't mean to question your knowledge but is it possible that you popped a filter for the hydraulics possibly the one feeding the shuttle shift? This would cause fluid to spray out making noise and possibly look like a diesel fuel leak.

I faintly recall someone saying they had an oil cooler that was partially plugged which caused the pressure to build and blew their filter.

best of luck

. I ended up calling the dealer I bought it from. He is awesome. He is going to take care of me. Props To Bonney's ag in hermiston Ore.

Glad to hear you are getting somewhere with the dealer can I ask you why you did not ring them first?

Most of the time the people that sell them are the ones to fix them, let them have the dealings with the warranty guy's ( believe me some you have to treat like babies and some no problem is too big for them ) The dealers are the ones talking to them the most often so they know how handle them.

As for wd5mhz I'm sorry but I think you have been conned into spending more than what you needed too or was it a case of 'keeping up with the neighbours'????

Jon

LOL Jon My neighbors can't keep up with me!!! I make more than they do haha ( i say they because there pice of junk they dont mow there grass one or twice a year) i have learned from exp spend the money the first time me i go with name brand stuff on major items the rest i might try to save a buck on been there done that!!! and wait till they go to try to sell there off brand equipment the re sale is terrible i will say it took many years for kubota to earn my trust before that i was a MF kind of guy lol i woudnt take a koita even if they gave it to me No thanks you can have it :) i never had a problem with my New Holland or Kubota one is for light duty and the other is heavy duty i take care of my stuff and don't abuse it it will last forever i do a lot of work use them a lot around the farm and construction sites might cost you more up front but ya can't take it with ya anyways!!!

Why all the Kioti hate?
