Tractor News Cabelas has tractors!!??

They have been at the CT store for a while - I would say at least 6 months, maybe more. Maybe they're testing some stores to see how they'll sell.

Now that the peanut gallery has moved on to bigger and better things, I thought some folks might like a few pictures. This was at the Dundee, Michigan store. A few weeks ago they only had one in sight, but they've added a bunch. I should note that there were people crawling all over them the entire time I was taking pictures, and the same thing was going on with the display model inside. I noted a lot of folks talking about/wondering where they were made. I heard one guy telling a friend that just because the Woods loader was made here, the machine may not be (no idea if they figured that out), and then the guy's son got on his smart phone to look it up.

All of the LM 50 and LM 43s had dual remotes, and the smaller sizes had one set. I thought the stabilizer bars looked like an interesting design.

I thought axles looked pretty small for this size machine:

Proof that it's a TYM product, but I'm not so sure about the final inspection process (depends on how they ship them)....you'll see why in the next picture!

The steps are nice and beefy, but I thought the FEL hoses looked pretty vulnerable in this spot:

Forgot to add that I noticed none of them seemed to have tilt steering wheels....figured the larger machines might have that, but they didn't.

Good pics. One thing I did't like was no fip up PTO shield. A little feature that is essential IMHO.

No, unfortunately, I was in a bit of a hurry, and was losing the light as well. I wanted to take some pictures from the operator's station, but the one or two chances I had there were people sort of in the way. If I get the chance, I'll try to get some next time, and I'd really like to see under the hood. Oh, I almost forgot that I noticed ungraded, or lower graded bolts in a few places that I would have expected zinc coated grade 8 bolts...you can see that in the background of the FEL hose picture.

In general, I think they look pretty solid, and they do have some nice features, like a shield around the hydraulic filter, but there are those few things that make me wonder, like the axles, and hose routing. As you know, that area is mostly agricultural, so the tractors were drawing a lot of interest, but I didn't see any pricing information, so it's hard to say how they'll be received. My overall feeling was that they're not quite as refined as an LS or Kioti at this point, but I certainly wouldn't say they're a cheap/bad product. It was little stuff like the plastic, and shape on the FEL joystick, etc...not bad, just maybe not quite as nice. I'd be curious to see how the loader specs out compared with the normal TYM offering (assuming it's different right?)....could be a selling point. I looked at one of the cabbed models, but they were locked, so I couldn't get inside to get an idea of how roomy they were, but it looked reasonable.

Hopefully I can get back there soon (it's close) and spend a little more time looking them over, but at this point I don't think I'd buy one based upon the lack of a TYM dealer anywhere nearby to get parts, etc.

Good point...that's actually one of the few things I dislike about my LS...it's fixed as well. I noted that the Cabela's/TYM has a PTO cover that appears to be made of metal, and is bolted in place, rather than a snap-fit plastic cover...kind of a nice feature.

The stabilizers look like what John Deere uses on some of their tractors.

That lower rear window in the cab is small.

Thanks for the nice photos. On the TYM models in the same size they all have tilt steering. If these have it there will be a short red lever under the steering wheel boot area. The loaders and equipment are made by Woods.

About $39k for 50hp with hydro cab and dual rear remotes. All kinds of 3 pt attachments with a 10% off sale on them right now.

I am not affiliated with Cabelas just reporting what I saw.

Way overpriced even with hydrostatic tranny, cab and dual remotes. $30K is more like it.

My #1 question would be, where would you take this tractor for service or repairs? Is Cabela's opening up a shop for the tractors at each location and hiring mechanics?

Just curious,, Why did you change from LS to Massey. I know you now have cab .. Is the Massey a better tractor ?

The CT store has a repair facility about 2 miles from the store - but I think they just do boats there. Maybe these are going to become tractor repair facilities as well? The closest TYM dealer to the CT store is 30 miles away so I can't imagine they'd contract with them for repair work.

The sales guy told me that the repair facility down the road from the CT store will also be the place where they service the tractors.
