I'll be going to Marshells, in Honesdale Pa. today. Going to price a new 30-40 hp Kubota, and any other tractor I get talked into. Are tractor salesmen like new car dealers? I have no love for car dealers. Legal horse traders.
Will the dealer quote me high prices and expect to haggle. What am I in for?

I'm getting sticker shock already. I'd like to stay under 17,5 for a 30-40hp kubota 4wd with loader. I don't really think it's realistic. I did a build on the kubota site and I'm getting prices like:
L3200HST - 4WD TRACTOR W/HST & FOLDABLE ROPS= $22,000
How much wiggle room is there?

Leave your checkbook at home. You are there to just ask questions and determine which tractor is the best fit for you.

Yeah, this is still a learning phase for me. I still haven't decided Kubota, Mahindra, or JD. All I do know is 4wd, loader, 30-40hp. aprox. 17,500

Don't forget to get rear hydraulic remotes added this is the best time.

Unfortunately, to get the best deal, you will have to negotiate and should be able to get 10 percent plus discount. While we own mostly Kubotas, I recommend looking at all the different top brands with good dealers in your area. Look at features and compare the same featured models between brands for a real apples to apples comparison and don't compare economy to premium, take your time as it does get complicated.

I don't think you can get any of those three brands, in that size, for that price, new. Of the three, you can probably get closest with Mahindra.

I haven't been impressed with most tractor sales people, regardless of brand....I knew more about the features, and options, on their machines than they did, and they almost universally knew nothing about the competition. Ask them a direct opm parison question, and they'd just start talking about non-specific stuff, and not factual stuff.....yeah, code for "I don't know, but I want to sell you something". I've seen where they didn't even know the basic differences between two machines on their own lot.

Not a big fan.....I'll do my research, you give me prices, and that's all.

I found Kubota and Mahindra to be very pricey as well as Kioti. My new 3032E JD with loader was $15,595. I also bought a 6' blade ,5' brush hog, and I-match but that was the price of tractor and loader. Total price for everything delivered to my house with loaded rear tires was $18,944. I did my whole deal over the phone and e-mail, never saw the dealership. My salesman was awesome and he personally delivered the tractor. Tractor was delivered January 20th, 0% financing for 5 years through JD. Cant beat that.

Your best bet in that price range would b an LS G3038 (38 HP). You can probably keep it under or around $16k. 5 yr warranty too, versus 3 yr like Kubota or Massey.

Do yourself a favor and visit all the dealerships near you and sit on & test all the competing tractors. You may find that the one you thought you wanted, you no longer like after you tested it out compared to the others.

And I agree on tractor salesmen ... they're the same as any other salesman. Do your research first, and you will find that you know way more about their product then they do. Then it's fun to listen to what they have to say if you bring up another brand of tractor. They'll tell you how much more amazing their brand is, and how junkie the other ones are. Without fail.

Funny that you say the Kioti was "pricey." You say you paid $18,944 for your 3032E with the 72" blade and 60" brush cutter.

Your first thread said you got a quote of $19,699 for a Kioti CK35SE HST with a 60" brush cutter, and 60" blade. The Kioti weighs 1K more than your Deere, has 400lbs more 3pt lift, 25% more PTO HP, 3 range HST versus 2, and the FEL goes 10" with the same (within a few pounds) max lift capacity.

You simply got less tractor capability, and only saved $700. If you're happy with that, nobody can fault you, but to call a more capable machine "pricey" when it's basically the same cost isn't really fair to someone who might be reading this, and not know better.

Yeah, that deal was about 600 miles away and by the time I decided to buy it was gone, down by Dallas. Turned out it was a demo too. As far as less tractor, it's all I need and was a great deal. The OP asked for Dealer expectations, not what tractor to buy. He should really make that decision on his own not rely on a public forum to guide his purchase. Funny you have so much time on your hands to research all my posts. Kinda Weird and Creepy.

It took all of maybe 1 minute to look that up. It's great that your happy with your tractor, but I think most folks like to see objective numbers when comparing prices and features. Considering that Kioti was more capable, and only very slightly more expensive, it's kind of hard to justify saying it was "pricey."

I agree with TSO. The LS Tractors seem to be a very good value now compared to the other color tractors. They come with many standard features that are options on the other brands.

Compact Tractors « LS Tractor USA

Good luck with your selection.

You should do a lot of research and compare everything, features, dealer, financing, etc. All those come in to play as well as the bottom line, price.

/ New Tractor Dealer Expectations? #16
just go to the dealer an look at the tractors.an tell the dealer you want their very bottom price on the tractors your looking at.then go to kubotas build your own an get a price.

Here's the scoop:
Just got back from Marshells in Pa. They are huge. My salesman was terrific. I told him my needs, we looked at the L3200 he had in the showroom. The price he gave me was for Kubuta L3200DT, Ag tires, Heavy duty front loader includes mounting kit, 66' Square back QA for La524, load the tires, deliver,
$21,474.00
-dealership discount $2474.00
Total $19,000
-$1000.00 Cash incentive rebate
Total Amount=$18,000.00
So the final cost to me delivered to my door with loaded tires, $18,000.00
I really need input here, the dealer said I have just a little bit of haggle room, 1 or 200 maybe, and maybe a free draw bar. What do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

If you like the Kubota, I think that is about what they are going for now, ask for the drawbar, and a clevis if they have one, you will need it and a couple of hats and write the check.
If you want to save some money and have a Kioti or LS dealer nearby, go check them out. Otherwise I think that is about the best you are going to do with the 'bota.

Check this for a price comparison. It also has the quick attach loader with skid steer attach on the front. And I would guess that loading the tires on a tractor this size would be somewhere under $200.

If you are sold on Kubota, you might be better off posting questions about specific pricing in the Kubota forum. And even if you don't want to take the time to sit on all the competing tractors, at least take the time to sit on one other brand, regardless of the color, just so you have an idea of how different they can all be.

Can anyone else please give me some info on my price quote? The dealer took 10% off the retail price for dealership discount. Also $1000.00 was deducted for cash instead of 0$ financing.
Should I be happy with this price, or try to haggle him down?
I need some input, cause I want to make the move.
