Up to about 4 years ago we had always had John Deere tractor style for mowing, then we bought a JD Z820-A zero turn mower. I had never driven a ZT. While finalizing price negotiations, I asked the JD dealer if a trailer hitch was available and he looked me like I had 2 heads. Now I know why.

I've only done limited trailer hauling with tractors and/or with on-road vehicles so I know the general idea. I mow multiple acres and considered a ZTR but rejected it in favor of going the CUT route. just from the FEL and other functions that you can do. But I am going to plead ignorance about a ZTR and trailers. ullinghair:

Pix as I promised, nothing fancy although allows me to carry a few things back-n-forth, so far the heaviest load has been a stack of firewood, proly 65-75 lbs, it can be easily removed, the ZT had a square hole at the lower rear frame, so I took advantage of it and come up with this idea, it's 26" x 28" I used wire for the bottom in order to still get fresh air into the engines flywheel,

Last summer saw a SUV towing a 5x8 trailer with nothing else on the trailer but a mop and a bucket.

Must have had some stinky stuff in that bucket?

I tow my water wagon with my ztr all the time. A little planning so never have to back up though. It still could be done though.

I suppose you could call this abuse of a trailer - 2600 lbs on a trailer rated 900 lbs.

Note I wait til its near empty before going down to the last steep orchard rows.
