:thumbsup:Congrats on the new machine! Don't be a stranger on the LS Forum

That's what I was gonna say, we are gonna miss you here in LS land. Wow what a difference in loader height! Nice machine.

congratulations.
Very nice machines, both of them.
I would really love to have a cab, but like James (kOua), my tractor is payed for and do not want/need the payments.
Good luck with it.

That loader on the Massey sure does get quite a bit taller than the loader on the LS.

TSO: congratulations on the new tractor! I had looked at the MF, the closest dealer is also a JD dealer and only had two small units, the next dealer was over 100 miles from me, nice tractor, but he wouldn't budge on price and had a used cab Kubota that he was real high on, 6 months later he still has 'em both! I took delivery of the XR4040 and while I really liked it, felt that it was short on power and while the dealer made me a smoking great deal ( he didn't have a 4046, and said it would be around June before he could get one unless he could another dealer to give one up) so I took the XR3037, I really like it on my small 10 acres, the cab is super, and with the less weight of the 4040 and even loaded rear tires, the turbo gives it a lot of power at 6300 feet elevation, I was plowing last Saturday and Sunday in shirt sleeves and it was below freezing outside! I was almost ready to buy a JD3520, this is about the same only a lot less $$, if I decide to get more power, I will look at the XR4046, a used JD4320 and I will look at the MF again. Thanks for your observations, enjoy the new tractor and especially the cab!!!

It looks like you made a nice step up by moving to the Massey. I know you'll love it, especially moving snow in all the cold temps you're having. I'm from the same neck of the woods, and although I haven't actually experienced the extremely cold snowy winter this year, my wife reminds me about almost everyday in an e-mail. I feel like a complaint department. I also am going from a completely paid for tractor to a 5 year monthly payment when I move up to a cab from my OS 4720. Don't know if it's just me, but I love the feeling of actually owning something rather than feeling like a renter, but at least I'll be moving up to a cab. Enjoy your new machine, and keep the pics coming.

I was wondering about the new engines in the LS if they would be as nice and as powerful as the Mitsubishi's are now I guess I know. The spec's just seem less. I wonder why the hydro tranny wined more could it be because the engine is quieter or did they actually change the trany too?

I though about you and your big pretty (and warm) Massey today as I was out plowing our road and driveway.
I don't see why you could not have brought it over to let me "see" it!
Man it was cold today.

I still don't want to pass total judgement after just one test drive, it still could've been the cold, or God knows what else... I don't think they put in a different tranny. I think that Mitsu S4QL is an all star engine, it's about 15% larger (in displacement) than the Shibaura, and even my Iseki... and I've read is rated for higher HP in different applications also. This Massey is not particularly quiet (hydro whine) either, but maybe I was just spoiled by the lack of whine on the R4047.

Interesting note, the Massey seems to put more power to the ground in HIGH range, but the LS seems a little stronger in MED range. Haven't used LOW range yet to compare.

And James, as much as I hate admitting when I'm wrong, I should have gotten a cab a while ago. I was pushing snow for about 90 mins combined today. Was basically just in jeans & t-shirt, had to open the vents at times as well! Obviously, on an open station you can bundle up and stay fine, but that doesn't do much for the blowing snow, or when you feel cold to the core when you're done.

I debated back and forth whether or not I should complete my own home made cab instead of buying a factory one. After experiencing how well the factory heat works, especially with keeping the windows free and clear, I think in the end it will be money well spent.
