Frogs croak, a sound not too dissimilar from the passing of gas. In a case of free floating flatulence you are not looking for well thought out excuses, when plausible deniability will do. Thus, the question, "frogs?", along with a swift retreat will work in most instances.

Sadly I was only able to review half of my daily post allotment {200} due to the timing of the Super Bowl. But I had solved the puzzle of the pallets in the fields of New Jersey by halftime of the game.

The crow's foot, or caltrop is an anti-cavalry defensive weapon. It keeps one sharp point always sticking up to slow the advance of enemy forces. The pallets are a crude form of caltrops that have been placed all across the state of New Jersey. And I would say they are working. The Broncos never showed up in East Rutherford tonight.

Sir, your worst fears have been realized, while you napped. It is far too late to try to distract me with Briquette.

I knew something was amiss in my communications with Pipette. Her replies were far too harsh for one so lovely. Rather than counting shekels based upon multi-syllabic post-counting nonsense and squabbling endlessly over pseudo-intellectual property, as some here have done, I turned my energies to unlocking the mystery of Pipette.

Every lock has a key, and I discovered the key to Pipette in her own words--which I eventually recognized as her plea for help:

"My mentor and I read to each other from the CRC Standard Mathematical Tables and Formulae every afternoon."

"As I wrote earlier, the photo is that of my flirtatious twin, Ariette. My mentor is a real man -- both Ariette and I swoon when he recites the natural number to 47 decimal places."


As I pondered the meaning of these statements, I had my own epiphany! Of course I was drawn to the number 47, since it is a prime number, but what was Pipette attempting to secretly tell me right under the watchful and Romanesque nose of her mentor?
