Pallets in fields

Oi! At no time have I ever condoned the Squirellist Theory.

Indeed, I am the only member of this Fellowship of the Pallet [FOTP] to have presented any sort of tertiary qualification to be entrusted with this delicate apparatus! As a serving RAN Reservist, I hold a Top Secret security clearance which would guarantee that the device would not be used in a nefarious way. I clearly stated that "observing ladies 'naughty bits'" was a standard operating procedure [SOP] to calibrate the Professional X-ray Glasses... nothing more.

As a fellow TBN MOTM [Member of the Month], I am surprised at your insinuations! Especially as a veiled attempt to advance yourself 'up the queue' for access to this technology.
Your rebuttal is convincing... I must review my previous concurrence with smstonypoint on this matter in regards to specific reference to you, my friend! Perhaps I roguishly attempted to elevate myself on the list of viable candidates for the 'glasses' at your expense. Note that I did leave room at the top of the list and only asked that due diligence be exercised and applied to all.

You are correct. Rocky the Flying Squirrel's full name is/was Rocket J. Squirrel...

And the initial 'J' was for Jet!

Please note that this Wanted Poster verifies the above said spelling to be correct and factual. I am glad that Bullwinkle entered the discussion, his degree from Wossamotta U will add credence to solving the mystery.

Well done Wagtail... although I tended to pay more attention to the Pink Panther (before he was audible), I did view Rocky and Bullwinkle just to get to Johnny Quest. I think now I would have more appreciation for Boris and the gang but what the heck does this have to do with pallets?

Thank you for your research and findings, Tom.

I can further provide the full names of the villains depicted in your provided broadsheet. They are Boris Badinov & Natasha Fetale!

Boy, I'm just a font of information today, eh?

Hang on a minute mate.

Do I read it that it is "standard operating procedure [SOP]" for "serving RAM Reservists" to "observe ladies 'naughty' bits"

How can I get a job like that.

(no wonder you lost the ashes)

I am sorry to report, that the Original poster has declined to find anything out about the pallets for us, and the rest of us don't have a clue. This is 85 pages of humor, and ribbing each other, and WAG's of what they may be there for.. but no-one really knows.
I know

I thought that that quote was from Monty Python's "The Life of Brian"?

Snow fences??

Don't think so, there's only two, placed back to back. The snow fence is usually about 30 or 40 feet back from the shoulder, these are at least 400 feet from the road so would have no value as snow fence.

Although blueriver's conjecture did not gain much traction in the scientific community, he may have inspired this experiment in Indiana:

A line of pallets out in the field. The hope is that they will disrupt the wind flow and drop the snow just past the pallets and not on my drive. This isn't enough to make much difference right now, but if it works I can to find some more pallets and make a long line.

However it may be that this experiment is short lived:

The cows are pleased with the new scratching posts I supplied. They may all be knocked over before I get any results.

If they're not experimental snow fences, they might be scratching posts for cows.

Cow's in New Jersey?
It's not impossible, although New Jersey ranks 47th in cattle distribution the US according to the USDA.

However! There are alien creatures in New Jersey.

Jim Shooz Quote 1: Do I read it that it is "standard operating procedure [SOP]" for "serving RAN Reservists" to "observe ladies 'naughty' bits"

Yes, and it's much easier to calibrate the Professional X-ray Glasses these days since they allowed women to serve at sea. (it was a rough time during the 70's & 80's to perform that calibration... rough times, indeed... <shudder>)

Jim Shooz Quote 2: How can I get a job like that

Try your local RNZN Recruiting Office; if you have the desired pre-qualifications you may be able to 'jump right in'... in about a year from induction [having first passed your basic training, security vetting and psychological assessment]. Best of luck, Mate!

All is forgiven, Mate!

Now, back to the science!!! <he says, staring off at some unfixed point on the horizon>

Based on their comments, the YouTube scientists fall far short of the standards of excellence set by TBN scientists.;)
