New Year's Day meal here has to be pork roast, sauerkraut and mashed taters, for luck.

I've never eaten collards and mustard greens. :shocked:

Black-eyed peas are what is eaten "for luck". At least, in the South! Those greens would go good with black-eyeds and cornbread!

Sounds like a good plan in the making. My wife has the black eyed peas and will be making cornbread, to go with the greens, collards and smoked ham. Standard good luck meal for southern folks.

Cornbread is actually poor people's food. Look what all those rich people are missin out on. I like it best with butter. But have eaten a BUNCH of it hot in a bowl with milk and sugar, kinda like oatmeal.

I like it baked in a deep pan so it's thick, add an extra egg in the batter. Yummmmmyyyy.

Excuse me, I gotta go to the house and see if we got any cornbread fixins...... :licking:
