Going to purchase a new Kubota L4600 with loader before year end and wondering whether coupling the attachments leads to better pricing. In order of importance I want a snow blade (probably rear), rotary mower, box blade and post hole auger. On the wish list is a grapple bucket that will work with rocks and trees.
Thanks for any input!

Not sure if the pricing is better or not but I added a rear finish mower into the deal when I bought my tractor and received about 15% off for the package deal.

I think this solely depends on the price of the attachments. If the price of each is the best price you can find for that attachment, go for it. If not, then don't. Often the dealer will give you a very good price on attachments when buying a new tractor from him. Also it's common to see buyers go with the dealers attachments because they can get the whole package financed. While that's a good reason for needed attachments, sometimes it turns into a buyer spending money on attachments he could have gotten along without simply because it sounds like a good deal.

The definition of savings in this regard is "spending". If the item is not needed, there's no savings.

I agree with this right here. The package deal idea was created to sell stuff to folks they most likely wouldnt have bought. Some implements just dont get used enough IMHO to buy and let it sit around rusting.

If you were already planning on buying all those attachments, then a package deal discount can help as long as they are selling the actual tractor itself at a fair price too.

Enjoy your new machine, I love my L4600 !

The only true way to know if it is a good deal is competitive pricing of the equipment from other dealers and then only selecting what you really want or NEED and not buying a "package deal" with a bunch of stuff that you wont ever need. Be especially wary of the tractor, trailer + implement deals that many times sell you a trailer that is not safely load rated for the load put on them with tractor and 2 or 3 implements. Many times buyers buy that combo and really only use the trailer to get the tractor home. Most dealers will deliver for free within 50 miles or so and a few will pick up and deliver a tractor when warranty work is required but these are few and far between because the manufacturer doesn't reimburse a dealer for this cost so it is a very rare dealer that eats that cost.
If the deal is putting you some implements in the finance package at close to dealer cost, it may be good, but do your shopping before hand and only buy what you really are going to use and only if the price is right.

Price out what u want here Tractor Attachments And Skid Steer Attachments For Any Tractor Or Skid Steer to give u a good benchmark and if dealer can beat, do it. If not I would shop around. Know how tempting it is to come home with everything u need but shopping around can save u hundreds if not a grand or more on what everything you're looking for.

One thing to think about is whether you will be paying cash or financing, and if Kubota will have a 0% financing deal or discount in lieu of financing. Then consider if Kubota or LandPride attachments are right for you and if the price is right because they go with the zero financing. Me - I spent a lot of money on Kubota and LandPride stuff over the last 2 years, decided to finance instead of pay cash, and the cash I then invested has more than exceeded the payments. It is something to consider when buying.

It is always better to buy as a package. There are savings to be had other then delivery charges for the additional items you may want and set-up charges are normally less when doing the initial build of the tractor at the dealers the first time.

It's not better, if as talked about above, you end up with package items you don't need/use. If that happens then you nailed my definition of "saving".

Package deals are ALWAYS in the seller's favor. Not saying you can't get a good deal. But if you do it's because the seller has a product they want to move.

I bought my first new car in 1969. There were very few packages. You want dual mirrors?? Okay, that's an addition. You want AC? Okay, that's an addition. You want Power Steering? Okay, that's an addition. All individually done.

Now it's all about "Package Z" or "Entertainment Package B", etc. You ALWAYS end up buying something you NEVER use. Great gimmick for driving up sales and price. The tractor world isn't quite as bad as the car/truck world, but they are getting there. :(

I have seen some neat packages all on a trailer, trailer included. What i have seen is a loader on the tractor, back blade and mower and trailer. You might not think you need the trailer, but the more you use your tractor, the more you will want to use it other places and sometimes driving it isn't convenient.
