Tried that a couple weeks ago, still stuck. That stuff works great normally.

Also, I don't think I will like the way it looks wider. Torch Time. Maybe I should torch a turkey while I am at it.

50% tranny fluid and 50% acetone. Shake well and apply.. Works better than any store bought penetrating oil. Might take a couple of squirts a day for a couple of days.

i've used that as unstickum to drive valves out of a head when they stuck.. :)

NICE WORK AND A LOT OF WORK . I NEVER TRIED TO DO THIS . BUT I BUILT ALL THE MOUNTS TO PUT A FLAT HEAD V 8 . IN A 8N . FOR MY BOSS . EVERY ONE THAT SEEN IT SAID IT WAS BETTER THEN THE KITE YOU COULD BUY TO DO THIS .. HE SOLD IT FOR $8000 .IT WENT SOUTH..AND I STILL HAVE THE TABLETS TO CUT OUT MORE

Your making good progress, and it's looking good. I'm curious to see a better pic of the motor mount setup and your exhaust manifolds.

I will get picks of those things but my digital camera bit the dust and I don't want to use my Canon T4i in the cold dirty barn.
So I should have my ruggedized snap shooter tomorrow. Exhaust manifolds are steel by Don Knasel along with an extended engine mount that links the tranny to the adapter plate to front axle mounting plate.
The motor mounts to the engine mount with standard motor mounts and to the adapter plate that bolts to the tranny. The only problem I have with the manifold is that the steel is so thick that there is little clearance for a wrench or socket. I had to grind down a sacrificial 9/16" 1/4" drive to make a really thin wall socket. That worked for all but one of the bolts. Had to use an open end the best I could on that one. I am new to all this so I hope I am making sense.

Are you using the fan and radiator from the 8N? Will they be able to keep the 302 cool enough?

the n had a pretty oversized rad as it was.

as for the 302.. since it likely will never be making (anywhere near ) it's peak power.. or not for long, as it would rip out everything from the clutch back.. I doubt heat will be a problem chugging down a parade lane...

No, we are not using the fan from the 8n, we are using a new 8n radiator though.

We are using an electric water pump and a 12V electric fan from a Chrysler mini van.

See these 2 pages for the info on that

I have a temp gauge on it along with oil pressure so I should be able to monitor any potential problems there.
With a little common sense, I shouldn't tear anything up. We have heard of guys pulling souped up 8n's using stock components from the clutch back so we should be fine. For what I will be doing, I will be breaking traction before I will be breaking components. (In my opinion)

Anybody out there with experiences on a souped up 8n? Details please.
