What I see as a potential problem is getting the year end hopping and breaking an axle or snapping something in one of the trannies.

Save yourself the aggravation and don't do that.

I wasn't too clear on that. I do not plan on making the rear end hop because of the danger of snapping an axle or part in one of the trannies.

You got it guys, it is for the novelty and because I want a hot rod (tractor). Parades, snow plow the driveway, pull a grader on our 3/4 mile driveway, no real horsing.
And the sound! Anyone else love the sound of a V8?

Yes i do! and I really can't give you a hard time because i have done a few car conversions ,
a Pontiac 455 punched .030 over to 462 cu in a 1984 Mazda RX7- still have it but haven't done any body or interior work yet, but with the 200-4R and lock up converter it is a blast to drive 100_0031.jpg
this engine is out of the car due to a wiped cam lobe at the moment but I put a stock 1969 GTO 400 in it for now... GO conversions :thumbsup:

I put a 250 cid chevy 6 in a XJ6 jag, was pretty easy. Long time ago no pics.

Nice, I love Rangers - I have a 2002 4WD with 4.0 V6 tweaked a little to about 280 HP, fun truck and it gets about 17-19MPG around town if I take it easy.

Keeping with the Ford theme......and conversions.......here is mine but sorry it's not a tractor. 1985 2wd Ranger short bed w/ a 387 Windsor....stroked 351W Lightning motor, Windsor Sr heads, Eagle crank/rods, TRW pistons.

no thread- may eventually put it on the Grannys RX7 conversion site- but do enjoy seeing others- tractors ,trucks and cars
As to a conversion vehicle thread- i don't think one exists on TBN but not real sure, the rx7 isn't nice enough at this point and there are some things I would like to fix up on my tractors first :).

Dan that's a cool Ranger - probably surprised some muscle cars...:thumbsup:

I don't think you have to worry about axle hop on a tractor with no suspension.

They will hop even though they don't have a suspension.
