DK40 50 hr service

Murph, I haven't checked the manual but after the 50hr, isn't the next hydro service at 400 hrs or something like that?

The Service Manual is different than the Owners Manual causing the point of this thread. The do I change my fluid at 50 hours.

Yeah, I wish I had waited. It is painful to throw away crystal clear hydraulic fluid at 50 hrs. We don't do that with auto transmissions and it is inconceivable that the lubricant qualities are dissipated by 50 hrs. Someone should sell a filtration kit to remove fine metal particles that would allow the fluid to be reused. Such a waste.

I agree but then why do all the companies require initial fluid changes at about 50-100hrs?

I don't know what others do but my book for my MF 135 Don't change till 500 hours and my Ventrac is 2000 hours.

The 135 is not but The Ventrac is. It uses Amsoil I think.

The Kubota's used to say first change at 50, but now say to change at 400 and just change filters at 50. But a lot of the Kubota guys still change at 50. I didn't. I just followed the manual. And since I didnt keep the Kubotas to 400, I never changed their fluid, except for front axle.
