thats 1 reason that i hate the all glass doors on the cab tractors of today.because the doors are very easy to shatter.

Top half latched in the open position, you can see the glass.

Was backing up, got too close to the dumper, boom, no glass.

Removed the top frame.

May get a piece of plexiglas to put on it for this winter.

Actually the metal frame doors are very difficult to straighten and get back to closing correctly after the door has be snagged on something. My vote is for the all glass door and keep them shut when not entering/exiting cab.

This is true,I will be keeping mine shut from now on. This will be my second door this year, first hay cutter threw something threw it....

I have a question, why do they not use a shatter proof glass? like a car front window...

You're dealer must have charged a lot for labor because the door cost less than $600

Its the glass, the door rubber surrounding, the metal bar that holds the glass and the door handle itself, then install.

I still think your dealers labor rate is high.

I suppose the $250 is deductible amount you have to pay on insurance. I still think the high amount in labor/mileage that your dealer charges an insurance company contributes to the exceeding high COST of insurance. I've installed a door on a M4900 and it took less than one hour.

Probably the same deal as tow truck. If you just brake down its 50 but if you hit a deer its 300

Well, the 2013 hay season is a wrap for me. (pun intended) Baled another 26 4x5 rolls yesterday. That was from a 12 acre patch of mostly Coastal Bermuda.
That's it, I'm done. There isn't enough grass on the other forty-something acres of Bahaia to make it worth the time and diesel to harvest.

Total for the year: 125 rolls. 69 of that was from the Coastal. I was able to cut it 3 times. The Bahaia was only cut once.
At least the hay I have is really good quality. It was put up without getting rained on. (which wasn't hard to do this summer) ;) The barn is full, and I probably have more on hand than what I can sell this winter anyway. After two years of severe drought and four more of sub-average rainfall, I don't have many hay customers left.

I have a 20 acre pasture that with all the rain been getting could probably make and I sure been debating on getting my stuff out. Just been itching to make some rolls. We have raining coming in tonight and next several days,so would leave cutting sometime around nov.3,havent ever cut that late in the year, bet would be hard to get it dried out.

Not necessarily. I cut Wed. morning, and baled Friday afternoon. Low humidity and a North wind cured it fast. Plus, it was pleasant weather for the tractor driver. :D
