I have Kubota, JD, NH, CaseIH, Kioti dealer within 50 miles and they are all friendly - ie, willing to take my money. Yesterday I purchased a Bush Hog roll over bb from the only "local" Bush Hog dealer - Massey Ferguson/Versatile dealer - he's 80 miles away and he's friendly also. But I think its like a previous poster said - I had bib overalls on and a little cow poo on my pant legs. That's probably why the sales man kept showing me the Versatile 305 MFWD tractor. I don't think that big beautiful thing would even fit between the trees going down my driveway and I know for sure a suitable backblade wouldn't. Man, if I could afford it, I'd be down there right now falling trees.

Guess I need some overalls!

always get the 4x4, you will never regret it.

Another vote for 4WD here. I was hemming & hawwing also this spring, now I wonder how I did without it. Sure it costs a lot - but you get a lot, and you can resale more, and you can amortize a bunch on the loan.

Live is short, get the tractor you need!

Hey Guys & Gals - RE: Poo and all that - the main idea is to look somewhat like a barnyard - you probably don't have to smell that way too. Although I've noticed when I do - smell like a barnyard, that is - I never seem to get "rushed" by the sales staff. A silver lining to every barnyard.

Yup I've come to that conclusion. I was thinking about 2wd when I was looking at the 5045d but I've ruled it out too. Sat on one the other day and its too big. I'd rather learn on something smaller.

At this point in my life any future tractors will have 4WD, FEL, and a cab. Looking hard at the LS 65 HP utility.

Think I've ruled out LS. Only one dealer in my area and when I search Tractorhouse none come up for sale in my entire state. Stopped by Kioti and looked at a DK40SEHST. I think I'm sold.

Did you talk to Wright Tractors in OKC? They're only 15mi from Edmond. LS just announced 0% financing for 84 months.

Why would you care if machines are listed on Tractorhouse? Lots of dealers don't list anything there, but that doesn't mean they don't have a full lot.

Regardless, the DK is a really nice machine.

Wright Tractors will seem small, but they have done well on what minimal warranty work I have needed. Wright picked up the LS line after the dealer in OKC went under. They sell more than LS and do have several to look at.

Any purchase I make I consider resale.

Also a concern was that the OKC and Stillwater dealerships had either gone under or had chosen to part ways with LS.

I bought from the OKC dealer. He went under. . I went by the Stillwater dealership when I was looking to buy. They seemed to be in a state of flux and really was not pushing the LS. I came real close to buying a Kioti but after about a year of looking and trying to decide was more comfortable with the LS. I had the same experience as you with the JD and NH dealers back then, but I must not have looked like I was made of money!

I've verbally committed to the DK40SEHST but he's got a smoking deal on a DS4510. It's about $5k cheaper. Debating whether the DK's 5hp, HST and other perks are worth it.

Congratulations... Welcome to the pack. What are you doing for rear ballast so you can use the loader to it's full potential?

I believe you will be very pleased with the capability's and operation of that machine.

It goes without saying you should check tightness of all wheel lugs and loader mounting bolts, but something you would not think to check is the darn tubes that screw together to form the tube for the loader indicator level rod. Those tubes become unscrewed within the first 10 hours of operation and you will pretzel your rod. it has happened to more than just me. After I straightened out the rod, I applied lock-tight to the screw threads of the tube and stippled it with an automatic center punch to make sure it never came loose again. Also you should check all of those pretty little gold andonized bolts that hold the grease Zerk mounts in place and act as end caps for the loader pins. several of those worked loose on mine.kl401.jpg
