Good Morning! 74˚ now and staying away from the triple digits.
Back from a day in Houston. I don't miss being stopped completely on a 14 lane highway NOT during rush hour and no wrecks. (Katy Frwy.)
I was finally accepted in the five year Heart Study after waiting two years after my "procedure". Luckily they were still accepting applicants/subjects. The good thing is I'm in the group that is required to go to the medical center only once a year. All the heart procedures and test are the same in each group. My (random) group receives the standard care (AHA standard) and the other group receives the comprehensive care which consist of education, training, and test results for heart patients to take control of their lives and stop their heart disease through lifestyle changes in exercise and diet.
For those that know me you might be thinking that I'm definitely in the wrong group - and you would be right - and I expressed my concerns to the doctor and assured him I will be continuing what I'm doing which is way over the AHA standard. He assured me that group selection is all random by computer and knows that there will be extremes in both groups. He did say that on the bright side, after an extensive interview with the dietitian and other procedures and test, that I am doing the absolute best and that there is nothing that they could have taught me to improve what I'm already doing. So Yea! More encouragement (from the best sources available) to do exactly what I'm doing to control heart disease.
