2013 Tundra vs 2013 Ford

I just remembered the one thing I hate about my F-150. It's that GIANT, oversized key!!!! I can't stand how big that thing is, or how sensitive the buttons on it are. Why does it have to be so large? I hate carrying stuff in my pockets, and this key is just a never ending pain. In the year that I've had it, I've set off the alarm half a dozen times. It's always when I'm carrying something and whatever it is that I'm carrying, hits the key in my pocket just right.

As for Nissan, I looked into them when shopping, but they are so far behind all the other brands in power and mileage that I lost interest real quick. I hear that they are planning a total rebuild, but nobody seems to know for sure when that is going to happen, or if they will be successful.

Congrats on the new truck, I've never met anybody who didn't love their Toyota.

Yes I showed her pictures of Oscar once during a visit and shared his life story. A few days later I find her following you on Facebook, I didn't even know that was on option. My parents are big travelers and also enjoy your travel photos. I noticed she commented on an Oscar photo earlier today. Oscar has made you famous world wide. Of course prior to Oscar, I too have been impressed with your many adventures. I wish I could have made the trip down for the get together years ago at your place.

Even though the Nissan has less power than the Ford 5.0 it is lighter so it is just as fast. The 5.0 Ford probably tows and hauls better though.

Ya. Im stuck with one now! Looking at having to dump some serious cash into it, so much Ill likely have to keep it till it rots. Rockers, rear end, drive shaft. Front drive shaft, transfer case, drivers seat, exhaust manifolds, muffler.... All need rebuilding/repairs/replacement. Can't give the darn thing away!

Scooby;

Is this with regular maintenance???

Have an '06 sierra that I bought with 188K 4 yrs ago and have changed numerous parts...before they cause a snowball effect and cause others to fail costing much more $$

Did have an '06 FX4 super crew 5.4 new. Nice truck but THIRSTY!!

Its gets regular maintenance.

Just various things are failing. Much of it has failed before and this is its second replacement. Bad design from the factory. Many problems Im having are very common on the ford forums.

This is the second time for fixing leaky exhaust manifolds. I probably should have bought new headers last time, the factory ones are garbage and warp, but it wasnt in the budget. Now its time to pay the piper. Known issue.

This is also the second rear end. First one was near the end of warranty. I think they just rebuilt it with new internals. Who knows if they set it up right? But they are known for eating pinion bearings, and thats what I have to fix now. Known issue.

Driveshaft (rear) is out of balance because ford used a ****** way of mounting the weights to an UNPAINTED! driveshaft. Rust gets behind the weights and pops them off. Another known issue.

Front driveshaft slip is siezed. Driveshaft cant telescope. Im pretty sure the Ujoints are shot too, but cant take driveshaft out to confirm. Will likely have to destroy the driveshaft to get it out.

Bearings in xfer case are in need of replacement. Play on rear output shaft.

Muffler, leaks. This is a normal wear item. Not fords fault.

Rockers etc. They were "repaired" while still under warranty for surface rust. Job was not well done. Now I have to completely replace the rockers. Known issue. Water leaks in the rear 3rd brakelight and takes out the rockers from the inside. Ford didnt seal the light correct.

Drivers seat needs replacement. Leather wore through and tore. Leather was not tough enough.

At least one COP is shot.

Thats about it off the top of my head lol.

And yes it gets lousy mileage on top of all that;)
