Ordered a set of pallet forks!!!

/ Ordered a set of pallet forks!!! #21
Let's see, in the past week I moved a 2000 lb pallet of railroad ties, my two 55 gallon water barrels filled and mounted on a pallet, a pallet of bricks and a pallet of ground cover fabric to place in the veggie field. Having a set of forks sure makes handling stuff like this a breeze.

I bought my forks last year, just to have in case because a friend had used his when I was at his house and I thought thoes could come in handy. Now that I have them I can't even imagion not having them, and with quick attach man you can switch in a minute or less. Best tool I ever bought!

Update with bad news and good news -
As with some other companies, the notice that my forks were "shipped" merely meant that the order had been processed and the shipping label had been sent to the warehouse. I got a call this afternoon from a guy at the warehouse. It turns out that the 42" forks are backordered, and won't be in for about 6 weeks. The good news is that he offered to upgrade me to the the 48" forks for a very attractive price.

I believe my JD 4600 with 460 loader will handle the 48" forks just fine. I would have ordered that size anyway, but I thought the $125 price difference listed in the web site was a bit steep.

The warehouse guy told me that my 48" forks, on a JDQA frame, should be physically shipped tomorrow. I'm a happy camper!:D

I have the 48" with the high strength bale spear. The forks are a little more weight when you reposition them side to side, but nothing too bad. You might like the extra length when picking off a pallet that slid forward on a truck or was loaded too deep. The added 80 lbs isn't too bad.

Been following this thread and they seem to be selling a lot of pallet forks to forum members!

After using mine for the past few months I am glad I went with the 48" and now would consider the 60". I too was torn over the extra increase between 42" and 48" but have no regrets on spending the extra money.

Be careful loading the tip only of the fork.

Might cause the curl cylinders to go into by pass mode. :D

Mount a quick attach bracket to your dumpster and gain a reason to drive your tractor two more times every week.

Had some outdoor furniture the wife decided to retire. Probably had 10 or so chairs and a shelf....managed to get them all in one trip. Placed them by the street and they were gone in 30 minutes. You know the saying....one man's trash is another man's treasure.

My forks arrived today.:) They fit fine. The paint was a little roughed up in shipment, but otherwise they look good. I may get a rattle can of JD Green and touch the frame up. On the other hand, they'll get scarred up a bit with use anyway.

They ought to do the job. Here are some photos:

A familiar sight. I touched mine up too and figure with a little time and wear I won't be quite as concerned.

Can't tell they are not factory JD from the pictures.

Very nice dennisfolsom:thumbsup:

That's just how mine was packaged on the pallet.... mine had some pallet rash also but like ya say, with use scares are gunna happen. I bought'em for work anyway not for show:D

I have been completely satisfied with my Titan forks. I suspect mine will get small add-ons like welded on rings and hooks and loose more paint and even become shiny in some spots:thumbsup:

Recently got a set from palletforks.com. Great price, really well built, fit perfectly, and came when they said. Couldn't ask for anything more.
