When we were kids.....we tripled dared a friend to light his fart. He singed a few hairs on his posterior and scared the heck out of all of us.......the things dumb kids do?

I swear to you Bob.....it was Don Bean!!! Same guy we dared to try and jump from his garage roof to a tree house......he missed and it took 20 some stitches to close up his arm. For some reason.....I remember Don's

Not meant to harm anyones feelings. But I do take most stories from Texas with a grain of salt and a high degree of OMG for the stuff that is real.

It's one of those "unmentionables". We all know it exists, but we love it nonetheless and choose not to embarass our good friends and neighbors to the South by bringing it up...especially when they are some of the most hospitable, patriotic and helpful folks around (besides, it may turn out it's not all brag, but fact!).

Aw now com'on, you must realize that such references to Texas are a caricature of certain traits in other areas of the country. Nobody gets off Scot free, it's an equal opportunity thing.

I have a cousin in Goldthwaite, and have visited Texas a couple times and found it thoroughly enjoyable.

When I was a kid I did pee on one at with the encouragement of my two older sisters, I was 5 and they were 10 and 12 respectively. It was on our grandparents cattle farm. While it did not do any physical damage to me it did hurt and I still remember it almost 60 years later. The lesson learned was don't always trust older siblings and keep it in your pants!

I would have told the girls to pee on the fence themselves and then see what they would say. :laughing:
