Thanks!

If someone has advice they'd like to give I'm open to it for sure!

I have a new home on. 3.5 acres. I am presently using a 4 wheeler with 60" swisher trail mower and snow plow to work. It has proved inadequate, and I've been using my back more than I'd like!
I am going to be moving material like large rocks, mulch, doing some grading, plowing a 700 foot paved driveway.
I will be mowing the entire lot which is a little over 3 acres of grass. I have some hills that I'd like to side mow (because they are longer than high.)

I would like to buy used but am having a hard time with the used prices when the dealers are offering new for a few thousand more.

I have looked at NEW tractors with 60" mmm mowers and loaders priced with all incentives and taxes...
Kubota BX2370 ($14,700)
Kubota BX2670 ($15,800)
John Deere 1025R ($17,500)
Yanmar SC2400 ($14,600)
Waiting to see:
Massey Ferguson 1705 ($13,900)

USED with loader and 60" mmm
2007 Kubota B3030 200 hrs like new ($14,900)
turf tires which I would prefer ind tires.
Several used Kubota BX's around $10-11,000 under 300 hrs.

Any thoughts?

The large rocks would be my concern using a SCUT. I do have many rock walls that I have to replace rocks on from time to time but the small BX bucket can only handle so much as far as size.

Welcome from middle maryland. Know your area pretty good. Been all over from Finzel to Flintstone and all up into PA (Bedford). Can be a challenging area.

4wd is a must. And always go larger if you can. Going small has cost a lot of us money when we upgrade, me included!

As others will tell you, try them all. But try to find a local dealer that you are comfortable with. I'm partial to the green, but I like them all. It just happens that was all my family has run. Probably because they were the only dealer in town growing up. And there is a dealer 3 miles from my house where I live now, so I stuck with em.

Good luck!

Nice to meet you, welcome to TBN. you are really so open. It's really a big home, 3.5 acres, waaaa.

I think those used Kubota BX which with good condition is a good idea. Then you can use the saving money to buy more implement.

Just looked at a kioti CS 2410. $13,300. Seemed a little cheaply made compared to the kubota or Deere. The High/ Lo shifter was hard to get in right range and get notchy, perhaps it was just new.
The dealer claimed it dynos high and operates great.

Also found a New Holland boomer 20 with 60" mmm and FEL for 13,900, it has 2 hours on it. Any suggestions

What dealers are close to you?

If I was buying today I would stick with Deere. Unless there was a yanmar dealer just as close

If your looking at the Boomer 20 go for the Boomer 25. Very nice running machines.

I assume you would prefer a sub-compact based on your prices and model numbers. Just how big are the rocks you're planning on moving? That might make a difference in whether or not you need to move up to the compact class. I did a little experimental heavy bucket work with my 2720 recently without the ballast box on the back and it made a big difference even with the 2000 series chassis. Having never operated a sub-compact, I don't know their capabilities. The Deeres do have a nice set-up for taking the mower deck on and off.

You have a long driveway and a lot of grass to mow. Anyone on here plow that much or mow that much with a sub-compact?

Good luck with your decision. This is actually a fun process, speaking from experience.

Thanks for all the input. I ended up with a 2010 Kubota 2660 126 hrs with FEL and 60" MMM. It came with wheel weights and an extra set of blades.
I gave $10,500 and it looks like new. So I'm happy and ready to get using it.
