We only own 3 acres but have been slowly taking over the neighbors 40 acres, mending fences, cutting wood, and getting all their old farm equipment up and running again. The only problem with my 5055 is the fact that it does not have a cab and with hauling a 400 gallon water tank back and forth over the mile between our two houses I really would like a cab. Not to mention I'm tired of being covered in dirt and dust ripping up our horse arena and etc. I was just interested if anyone has any input on the 5095m? The Deere dealer has a used 2010 with the quick hitch, fully loaded cab, and 563 self leveling loader and John Deere global hitch for what appears to me a reasonable 49,500 after negotiating them down from 54,000 and throwing in the adapters for my implements. Seems pretty fair to me. I have looked at the tractor and it is immaculate been stored inside a heated building with only 285 hours on it. The seat still has plastic on it. My payment would go up about 225 a month but it seems I'm getting a much better built tractor. Anyone know of any problems I should look out for? Anyone want to buy a low hours 2012 5055? It only has 125 hours on it. Open to negotiations above the dealer trade value of 20,700.

Thanks

The husband passed about a year ago and her kids don't live very close so I like to go down and help them out. It's absolutely beautiful with about 6 acres of pecan trees and a stream. I would love to own it. She does let us turn our horses out to pasture and cut firewood so it works out well for me.

Many of the issues that M users have discussed here on TBN were encountered within the first 100 hours. So, if your new-to-you 5095M should have any problems they're most likely already in the past! That said; my 5075M had a 2-year or 2,000hr warranty; which ever occurred first. I'd ask if the dealer would offer some additional coverage as part of the deal.

The M series is a "Cadillac" tractor and you should be well pleased with owning and working it!

Akfish,

Is your instructor seat removable? How hard does it look to put in? That's the only thing that I would like to have the dealer throw into the deal. My daughters love riding with me, and its good memories. Do you have the power beyond kit on your tractor? I have a little 9 ft backhoe and I didn't know if the 5095 puts out too much hydraulic flow at 24 gpm. My poor old ford only put out 4 or 5 gpm. My 5055 made it seem like it was on steroids. I didn't want to hurt the valves in the backhoe giving it even more flow. I only use it a couple of times a year. Also what is the little cable thing under your pro shaft in the back? I'll find out tomorrow if JD approves my credit app. I might get the tractor but the wife will probably kill me before I can enjoy it. Although she's been complaining while my 5055 been in the shop for the last week that her arena is too hard to ride in. So here's to keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks
Rob

Rob,

The buddy seat is not removable - at least not quickly.. It folds up and is basically out of the way; so, no need at all to remove it. No, I didn't get the PB installed. I decided to keep my 110TLB, instead. It looks like a pretty easy install - IMO.

I'm very leery of "add-on" backhoes. Especially, 3pt mounts. Even on a tractor the size of the 5095M, you can cause yourself some very expensive grief! I'd sell the backhoe and bank the money (so-to-speak) and use it for rental fees for a small excavator! The increased flow rates on the M will make the small hoe very, very responsive! But, you shouldn't be concerned about the valves or cylinders unless they're rated for less pressure (psi) than the operating pressure of the hydraulic pump on the M. That's when all the seals will start to "complain" with a lot of weeping! ;)

The cable is for the ePTO option. It's a shifter cable that drops the gear ratio in the PTO tranny to operate @ 1,650 engine rpm's.

Good luck with JD Credit!
