Weather report. How cold?

Wow. That sure is some cold weather. You can keep it. I can't believe today was a nice warm 58 F. Got out and cut some firewood up with the chainsaw. But tomorrow it's only supposed to be 36 F for the high and that's cold enough for me.

Thankfully though were supposed to get some warmer days after tomorrow.

There's even 60's F in the forecast for the 27th and 28th. I'll take that nice weather.

Stay warm everyone.

Only four below this morning but the forcast calls for much colder tonight. The wind was blowing yesterday and the snow conditions were just right for snow roses to form. It looks like the wind faries were having a snow ball fight in my daughters fields and some of them are a foot tall. The weatherman said it was the first time in thirty years with those conditions. I can't say he is wrong as I don't remember the last time I saw them.

Huh. You get roses. All I get is George Washington.

It's 19 F out right now. Got the wood stove roaring and it's a nice 80 F in the house. It's only supposed to be 37 today so the stove will be going all day.

Can't believe the forecast high for the 28th is 68 F. Wow almost 70 F weather for January. I'll take that over these freezing temps we've been having.

A coworker is from upstate NY and still has family up there. She went me some links to a TV station talking about how much snow they were getting and how cold it was. One town had five feet of snow. There was an interesting stunt the weather man did with a T Shirt. He dunked a T shirt in a bucket of water. The shirt was a frozen board in two minutes. Now that is COLD. :D:D:D

We were 32 at the house this morning. It will be back in the low 20s maybe teens in a few days. First of the week will be up in the 60's maybe 70s! THAT is T Shirt Weather! Woo Hoo.:laughing::laughing:

Some locals having fun in the cold

Boiling water myth busters

Fun! Reminds me of a cold morning in college. I was walking to the dining hall one sub-zero morning. I passed by a high-rise dorm, when a water balloon burst on the sidewalk right in front of me, the apparent target. The water froze mid-splash! I just started laughing, as it reminded me of something I would expect to see on Looney Tunes.

Well, I could be a prick and thumb my nose at you all WAY up north... but I used to live in Canada & know (as you do) what real cold is. Mind you, we were used to it and/or expected it back then. It's the middle of summer down here in Australia = where the North is hot and the South is a lot cooler (after Tasmania there's Antarctica). Anyway, it was a max of 27C today with some blessed rain. I believe that it's going down to 12C tonight. A lovely 21C tomorrow.

Stay safe Cobbers.

 Not to many crocs down here... but everything else is trying to kill me! The other day I went to fill my kettle for a second cup of morning coffee = that's when I spotted the scorpion in the kitchen sink! I helped the little critter out (with a healthy dose of bug spray) and went back to my coffee.

Dang temp outside is still 28 danged degrees and it is almost 1:00pm! Snow is sorta falling and it is sticking. Kids got a half day of school today to avoid the wintery mess. Wifey saw a car down an embankment bringing the kids home from school. Road crews started brining two days ago so the roads are prepped but the wifey said the roads are slick in spite of the salt.

Got wood to the house, the stove has been burning for days, and we ain't going anywhere.

FYI brining is a waste of money. They are hauling a load that is more then half water when mother nature will deliver all the water you need in the form of ice or snow so each truck load only goes half as far as it could if loaded with dry rock salt. . Your DOT has bought a load of snake oil from the salesmen that sell the brine pumps and equipment and the only reason they haven't got caught at it is that your average snow ice event is usually fallowed by a spell of warmer weather that takes care of the problem.
