what valve to use

hello,
not new to farming or building things but just stumped right now.. I am in the middle of building a post driver/pounder and so far all is good except i cant get the return to work fast enough. Any one know if there is a float valve? or can you bore out the relief valve to make the weight of the pounder fall faster?... I have tried larger lines, but still no such luck.... thanks and any help will be appreciated...

What is the size of the port on the valve?

How many GPM are you using for the input.

Maybe an oversize valve will help.

What is the bore size.

Perhaps you can find something here to help with your build.

The port is 3/4 on the valve and GPM i believe is 18, since i am using my ford 4000 tractor the bore size of the cylinder is 4 inch, I'm pretty sure what i am using is large enough, i have it pictured in my head like a valve that is used on a backhoe or something where you can put it in float and the bucket would come down quick but i just cant visualize it. I may be able to drill and retap the cylinder return to1" but I may be messing it all up...
