Anyone see any problems with this set up. Found a used brushed hog which is affordable but want to make sure it fits and will work well. I have the 3pt hitch already? Any advice is appreciated.

From what I see it looks like it will not work at all or will do a fantastic job.

Your tractor should be 44.5 inches wide and with almost 18 PTO HP, you'd have no problems at all with a 48" brush cutter. Just remember that they cut best when the front of the cutter is a little lower than the back.
I've been running a 48" cutter on my B6100 for years and as long as the weeds/brush aren't much higher than the hood, it does well, really well.

I run a 48" Land Pride rotary cutter on our BX2660 and it works quite well.

I have a squealer SQ480 on my BX25. It works fine, but can get overwhelmed and stall the tractor when it hits certain stuff I shouldn't be running over. Keep the front lower than the back and the top link loose so it follows the ground better.

Like Triple R, I run a 48" Landpride on my BX2660. Many hours and tall weeds/trees have been leveled with this set up.

I am wondering if a Kubota BX25 w/42" brush hog would do well in 5"-6" grass and weeds. Thinking of buying a 42" brush hog but not if a 17HP diesel won't pull it at a reasonable pace without stalling. Never run a brush hog before, I could use some advice. Thanks!

My B2320 w. 48" LP cutter. I take it places you can hardly see into. Go slow & be safe.

In general terms 5 pto horse for each foot of "hog" You should be good with a 42, and if you were just cutting grass, you should be OK with a 48.

I "think" you can turn the 3PT adjusting knob, on my BX25
it is like close to my right heel as I sit in the seat, I think
you can tighten it all the ay up and lock the 3 point at
any height, I guess it there is no harm no foul for the chains?

That knob controls how fast the 3ph goes down and it locks it. If you have the 3PH half down and lock it and pick it up it will be locked all the way up. You mainly lock it for run on a road so you won't bump the lever and drop a implement in the road.

What are the chains for on the lift arm pins, height adjustment?

The chains are in tension when you lower the 3PH for mowing, and therefore set the front cutting height of the mower. There is no load on the 3PH during mowing, except for pulling.

I'm not sure about the 3PH lock function, I use the chains because the dealer provided them with the mower and instructed me on how to use them. My dealer has been excellent at advising me on attachments and their operation, so I am staying with this set-up.

Here is another photo of the chain arrangement. They hook to hard points on the tractor frame:

That it what I thought they were for since the BX doesn't have a position control on the 3PH.

The BX25 Manual talks about those tabs for chaining up the 3ph.
I do not exactly remeber where I saw it but 2 weekends ago I was
reading and I remember seeing it. If I remember right it says the
tabs are for chaining up the 3ph so it will not fall...

This hookup is all good in my book. Learn sumthin' new every day!
