When the computer is properly operating, it's NOT POSSIBLE to do an intentional double post...at least I know I've gotten a message indicating that my post was a duplicate of a recent post of mine and would not proceed.

Good point! I have seen that message before! I think JOHNTHOMAS maybe innocent!

A double post is malum prohibitum (just like speeding), so the guilty verdict should stand anyway.

I think when you hit the post button and you get the message "changes to the editor will be lost" and you hit okay you will get a double post.
