Tractor
2012 5740 htsc
Our 5740 arrived today. Can't wait for the weekend to get here now. We got one with a cab, loader, bh92, hd bucket, forks, and a 72 inch tiller. We played with the bh a little bit in the garden. The hydo thumb is pretty cool and should help getting rid of some stumps that we have in the yard. I'll see if I can get a radio installed before the weekend so I have tunes to work to. Our trash man always puts the dumpster down to where it is almost in the street and I'm worried about someone hitting it. So I swapped to the forks and moved it where I wanted it to be. Easy as pie! The wife was having a blast driving it all around and running the bh. She even swapped out the bucket for the forks.

I decided against the factory radio since I had a nice one collecting dust at the house already. Even if it eventually breaks due to vibration at least I got some use out of it. I couldn't believe the antenna and speakers were in there already. Working a pic.

Congratulations on your new tractor, we have had ours for a couple of months, replaced a GL5030 HSTC, you are going to love it. We didn't get a BH; looking forward to seeing pictures.

That is a great rig you have on your hands! I love my L5740. It does everything I ask and then some. For my applications it is the perfect combination of size, power and maneuverability. I have the HD bucket as well, and I am very happy with that choice. Keep an eye on your wheel lug torques for the first 50 hours. My front left tire lugs loosened up around 30 hours and it ruined the rim. It was was covered under warranty, but kind of a nuisance to have to correct. The service schedule is to check the torques at 50 hrs, but it would be worth your time to keep an eye on them earlier. :2cents:

Me too, TripleR!

I traded up to a 5740 last year and absolutely love it. Good move on the radio. The dealer I bought from orders his without the radio, saying he can get a better unit locally and install it cheaper than the factory box. There are a couple of things you might want to do. After I got mine, I went back and read 4shorts threads on fixing his up. I haven't done any of the mods yet, but plan on it in the future. I'd like to have the camera and the inside/outside thermometer. There is also an interesting thread you should read before doing the 50 hour service. There seems to either be a problem completely draining the engine oil or overfilling if adding the recommended amount when changing the oil. I added 9 quarts and overfilled. Some think either the manual is wrong or the dipstick is marked incorrectly. Regardless, these are nice tractors. Congrads.

Did you get a wiring adapter through Kubota?
