I have a 2615 that is seven years old. I have a hydraulic oil leak. I believe it is coming from where the gear lever housing attachs to the transmission. When looking from underneath there is oil on the bottom of the transmission housing. There is no oil on the filter housing.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I have a 2006 2615 and I have not had that problem, but I am interested in what it is and how to fix it. I can't look at mine right now but is there a hydraulic line going there?

I've had this happen a couple of times. It turned out to be the banjo fitting on the left rear side of the tractor; underneath the operator's station. If your leak is coming from the same fitting, you'll need either a 22, or 24mm wrench, or a long crescent. I use a crescent wrench which is just slim enough, and long enough to apply some leverage.

AchingBack. I checked the bango fitting and is dry. The only spot with fluid on besides underneath is on and around the gear sift lever boot.

Okay, I misunderstood. It sounds as if you have a gear tractor. The HST will be totally different. I hope it is simply a loose fitting.

Have you changed or added hydralic fluid to your tractor lately? If so it could just be over full. I did this once .

I am having a similar problem. I believe mine is coming from a plug that has worked it's way out possibly due to a plugged vent? #13 in this pic.

I am still having this leak on my tractor and I am wondering if Part number 14 is a gasket and this is where my leak is.
Any ideas would be of great help.

Did either of you solve the leak? I am having the same problem with my 2615, leaking from the top plug in the illustration. Thanks

Hey Butch, I'm having the same problem with my 2615, what did you figure out?
Thanks Marty

I have been told that there is no gasket where the shifter housing meets the trans housing. It uses a gasket sealer. I would like to no from our dealer friends if that is true.
