Anybody tried making their own replacement tines for a tiller?
I broke a couple of tines on my 3pt tiller, looks like they cost $8-14.00 a piece plus shipping. ( my tiller has 24 tines)
Any thoughts?

Try Clean Cutter Tiller blades in San Bernardino, CA

Try Tillerblades.com ---- many different blades for $3.00 each. Reasonable shipping also. You could not make then for less.

You could make them but first price out the cost of the proper steel, bending, drilling, sharpening and finally the heat treatment required for bending.

Then go to your local supplier and buy the tines you need.:D

Thanks, I have the mild steel as well as a plasma cutter and drill press.
Just wondering if anyone has tried making their own.

My neighbor cut up some truck frame and made his own tines. The very first time he stuck them in the ground the tines all just folded up. Don't waste your time get the right tines. bjr
