Congratulations on your new tractor, as mentioned, always a good idea to keep fluids and such around. My dealer doesn't keep SUDT in stock, so it has to be ordered.

TripleR, Now that you say that I do not remember seeing Super UDT at the dealer either. So I may just use the UDT I have on the shelf. The manual says they are compatible, what are everyone's thoughts? Probably does not make any difference at all which to use.

I was told that new Kubotas are shipped with UDT not Super UDT. Does anyone know if that is correct?

Just thinking, the crated tractors would be dry, I would think. Maybe it's up to the dealer what goes in during the prep. I imagine that UDT is cheeper, and acceptable to use, so why would they (the dealer) put in SUDT?

Up here in NY the dealer said to only use SUDT in the machine due to the cold weather. He said if just flows better under the cold temperatures.

So maybe it varies dealer to dealer, depending on climate.
My last tractor was a HST. When I changed the trans fluid I went to Amsoil syn. It was much better in the winter. The syn. doesn't tend to thicken in cold weather like non syn.
My present tractor came from sunny NC, so they can most likely get away with standard UDT.

I'd fire off a call to Barlow's and ask. I'd think UDT would be fine, and the fluid will get dumped after break-in in many cases anyway, but I would ask the guy you bought it from, since he knows more about it than I would, including and especially warranty issues if "oil x + oil y = Oil of Olay."

I don't think they come dry to the dealer. I think the dealer gets them with fluids installed and are supposed to top them up. I also believe the ones from the south east warehouse (HSTs) come with the SUDT or they did before the new SUDT came out. Maybe a dealer will confirm or deny this.
