It all comes down to our stupid government regulations.

Not this time. Mahindra got the truck to pass all the tests - then delayed asking the feds for certification until just after their contractual deadline with the American importer expired.

And it looks like if they ever send anything here it won't be what we thought but rather a Korean-made Ssangyong instead.

I was just bumping this thread to see if there is anything going on, or did Mahindra possibly pull out of the US market? I know they missed the EPA certification deadline so no new trucks for 2012, but I am guessing that with so many years of delays that it might be worth thinking to stick a fork in this deal. It's over and will never reach American shores.

It seems Mahindra shook off the US dealers they had lined up and may bring their diesel SUV and mini-pickup to the US market in 2014 speaking for themselves. (And the dealers aren't winning any lawsuits. Anybody remember Farmtrac?)

Edmunds says Mahindra is updating their existing India-market Scorpio and their new export version could be derived from the new model.

I won't believe anything until I see vehicles at a US dealer.
