Did some research and although the hood or fender tag read Fleetmaster I am pretty sure it was a Suburban. It is VERY rare to find one of those pre-1950. On the right-hand side of the "Chevrolet" nameplate (underneath) of the raised hood is where I read "Fleetmaster" cannot really see it sharp enough. The cars were the one with the Fleetmaster model designation but I am pretty sure the hoods interchanged.

Thats beautiful and I think the first real Suburban was a 1935 model with an all metal body but yours is much more attractive.
The show entry tag I read that was on the front grille said the one in the pic was a 1948 model.

I would like to have seen the blue and black one with a chrome grill and bumper bar though. Or did the grills come painted?
My daughter just took first prize for her '66 Mustang that was imported from the States a few years ago. I guess they are old hat there?

Alien...I saw one like hers at the car show yesterday, they are not all that commonplace but not rare either as Ford built so many of them. Back in high school my driver was a red '66 coupe with the 200 six and 3 speed, in '69 they were considered a small car but when I see one today I laugh at how large they are compared to the new econoboxes.

Probably 80 vehicles total, at least 15 of them were Corvettes in part because the local Corvette club was a sponsor. My brother owns a modified '80 coupe and he keeps trying to convince me to buy it but I have no room for another car.
Probably 300-400 spectators, maybe more....it was so hot and humid the people didn't seem to want to stay long.
I purchased a new 64 Corvette Sting Ray made to my order at the factory.
The list price was around 5k but I weazled the dealer down to $3900.
Great car but I sold it a couple years later because my wife couldn't drive it
and I was unexpectedly in San Antonio learning USAF procedures.

OUCH....my brother purchased a third hand '65 ragtop with the OEM 396 and factory side pipes back in '85 for a really good price and he traded it even up 4 yrs later for a '74 coupe with an automatic because his then-wife couldn't drive the stick in the '65. He has been kicking himself every since.
Attachments are low-rez digipics of print pics but they do show the car he had and the engine ID on the front fender

A few years ago... my brother, who had owned his 68 Mustang for 30 years, a neighbor that bought her 64 1/2 Mustang new sold their cars to an outfit in New Zealand.
It was pretty amazing... two guys stood in the driveway with cash... one from Germany and one from New Zealand and both wanted his car...
I've still got my 68 and and a 66... someday, both will need my attention... especially the 66 since it sits outside.

Shame about the '66. Send it to me.... There are rumblings that the Oz government are going to prevent these imports which would be very disappointing. Parts are still readily available here as she just put a brand new dash pad in hers as the original was split. It has a 302 Windsor and 3sp auto. I love it.

If you will recall, the '54 and early '55 Chevy trucks had the "Bull Nose" added to the grill, which made them quite distinctive. I believe, however, that the grills from about '47 to the early '55's were interchangeable. Somewhere about '52 or '53, they added the windwings and push button door handles.
