Believe it or not, with all this good weather I'm scrambling to get my deck ready. A week ago it was just a bad joke around here (western NY) that we'd be cutting the grass soon but now it's a reality. I remember someone posting how messy the gearbox oil change could be. Here's my solution.

A micro wave meal plastic container works just a well without having to do all that plumbing and tipping it up.

Well thats a good idea! Did you run the deck before to varm up the oil?

nifty idea! I'd would attach a velcro strap instead of zip tie around belt.
BTW, where did you get the catch spout?

A lot of work..I just took 45 seconds and use a fluid extractor. I use that thing all over the place..

Not a lot of work, though more than 45 seconds. Maybe 5 minutes (and that's less time than it takes to eat a microwave dinner Toyboy, but to each their own). I think it's a good idea to get the deck tipped up otherwise draining it while it sits level and simply pulling the plug is going to leave a lot of the filings from break-in sitting on the bottom of the gearbox. This was my first oil change, next time a suction gun might do the job.
