L3830 Hazard Flasher Switch

The indicator light in the hazard flasher switch on my 3830 doesn't light when the flashers are on. Is there a replaceable bulb or does the switch need to be changed? I think this is the only failure in 6 years of service. I knew I should have bought a Deere! Just kidding! Thanks in advance for any help

LOL! Yeah should have gone with the Deere.

I would suggest calling the dealer. I'm not sure if it's a seperate bulb or not. I have a feeling it's built into the switch. Mine is still working on my 3830! :thumbsup::laughing:

I have done some research on this since I posted. The bulb is not replaceable and a new switch is $57.00!!! I think I will look around. It is just a lighted push on/push off switch. Seems high to me, must have green paint on it somewhere

Have taken many switches apart over the years to clean contacts, grease and reassemble. Grain of wheat lamps are available on line at Mouser and Digi Key. You could replace with an LED and dropping resistor if you are real good.

Simple way is to drill hole next and put a pilot light from Radio Shack next to it.

I am sure I will just bite the bullet and buy the Kubota switch. I was just shocked by the price. Thanks for the advice anyway

On my L3830, the light illuminates only when the headlights are turned on. It doesn't light when the headlights are off and the hazard is on.
