RI isn't far at all from CT...

J DEERE 110 TLB 4WD 2003

There were two 110 TLB's for sale for a long time in RI- one with a cab, one without. IIRC high 20's for one, high 30's for the other.

Still waiting for my 4520 to arrive. It's funny how long it's taking for spring (May) to get here this year!

That one looks good, really good price as well.

One of the few benefits of buying used over new, it gets home faster:D Will be a very nice machine when you finally get it, though:thumbsup:

That's the one I was speaking of. I'm going to check it out today.

Saw another add - looks like they actually have two.

There was one for sale around Albany NY - seems to have disappeared off the classifieds. Given what was being asked not sure if it sold or if they gave up. Nice looking machine though, and low hours.

I talked with the guy today and will be checking it out after work. It's actually at his resturant so I doubt I'll be able to test it out. He seems to have other tractors also so maybe I'll be able to work a trade out. It has both front and rear hydro and three additional at the rear.

I was thinking of asking if I could grab oil samples before I bought it. I'd also like to test the scv's so I can avoid the situation Martian seems to be having.

Good deal Matt. I'm sure my situation is something very simple, everything else hydraulically works. Hopefully he would take a trade, it would definitely be ideal for you!

Well, I stopped by and took the 110 for a spin. My first impression is it was a contractor owned unit and never kept inside. I does indeed have all the options but I feel rode hard and put away wet may apply. The hood is real faded, the left side fender is broken at the first bolt so when you grab the handle the whole fender moves. The hoe, although it has the scv for a thumb doesn't have the quick attach. It seems like a wain roy bucket but pin on.

The front bucket is pretty banged up, the timing bar on the loader is bent, The roof has alot of scratches and scuffs(no big deal). All the control buttons and switches are fade but everything appeared to work.

I was able to dig just abit and it felt kind of slugish, the hydralics seem strong though. I feels large and clumsy compared to my 3320 for sure.

One thing I noticed that seems crazy is the engine oil fill cap. How the **** is one supposed to use it? Take the tank that's above it off?

The guy buys them from a Deere dealer in MA and resells them. He said he was pretty firm on the price but didn't really talk trade. He didn't have the 3pt hitch arms(yes, I know they aren't standard) but a guy in NH has a pair forsale. The tire seem in decent shape for 1200 hrs.

The boom of the hoe had some dents and a bolt sticking out of it. No cracks or welds that I could see. The power steering cylinder and opposing tie rod were slightly bent up. But not in any way that affected opperation.

So all in all it's in decent shape. I'm guess I'm a little **** of my garage queen 3320. But since the 110 wouldn't fit anyways maybe it's good that it's already faded. That way I won't agonize over leaving it out. I'd mostlikely get a large carport or something to keep it in.

Matt,
You can also fill the engine oil on the side; next to the radiator fan.

Decent shape... it sounds really bad, Matt! IMO - keep looking. There's some machines out there that aren't far off from "Garage Queens"!

Patience...

Most of it is cosmetic no real mechanical issues to speak of. The bent loader bar is probalbly the worst and I could straighten it at work in a press. The faded plastic seems real common. Again I didn't see an real deal breakers. I'm just a nitpicker by trade. I'd offer him 22k and if he didn't go for it walk on. And there are perfect machines out there but not as close and for alot more. I should be able to sell my machine and attachments and still have cash left over for some goodies for the 110.

So it's not the original owner? Don't worry about dings and dents **** happens over that amount of time. I like to baby things as well. My 4500 for example, (see avatar) is 6 years old with just over 6000 miles had never seen rain (or any sort of precipitation) or dirt roads and doesn't have a speck of dirt on it. But if I were to actually use it then it would be a different story. I'd be more worried about a sound machine, although to a point the looks do represent that.

They are much bigger than your 3320 and my 3120. But they are the same basic size, a little taller, then a 4x20 though.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe all you need is kit that snaps on to the old and makes it the QA, and I believe you can get another one of these 'converters' to work backwards with the std bucket to the QA.

I guess I'm lucky in the regard of storage. I have a 40' x 40' with 16' ceilings at home, 32' x 40' with 10' ceilings up north and 60' x 50' with 12' ceilings at the (mini) farm. I don't have a shortage of place to store things! Though I've never owned one those car ports are really nice.

Dang, I'm a slow typer. Two replies in the time to type my response.

I'd agree though. No sense in rushing. It took me a long time, but I got the best one I'd seen. With all the could be issues I'd make it $20k

Gotta buy the linkage from Deere. Replace the pin-on linkage. "Course the bucket is a no-go... and you'll have to buy another hoe bucket in a QA configuration!

IIRC - it was kinda spendy - another $1,400 or so, including a new bucket.

I said not to quote me!;)

That for sure is another reason to ask for a lower price than $22k. Between that and a thumb your looking at another easy couple thousand dollars.

A year or so back I bought the quick adaptor for my backhoe, one piece that pins in place using the existing ones. Just north of $300 IIRC. Buckets aren't cheap and are the main items to jack up the cost.

I was trying to remember what the QA cost and the bucket... I upgraded to the HD 20". So, couldn't remember how that split out, cost-wise.

Probably inch up real close to $3k.. I wasn't trying to hold your feet to it! Just really thinkin' out loud - trying to recall what that upgrade cost! :D

The guy selling it isn't the original owner. He and his FIL buy them and resell. They don't do anything to them. I really doubt the guys going to move much on the price. I'm gonna keep looking but the next closet one is a decent drive. I guess the thumb isn't a deal breaker. I'd always be able to add it. If it wasn't for all the scv's I would cross this one off the list.

I was just kidding. You know better than me on what this stuff is new. I just remembered where I saw that bucket converter stuff. It's in that same brochure that was way off on the bucket weights. I attached two pages (the entire thing is .1kb too much to upload) where it shows the converts. They don't have one for the bucket, but they do have one for both the pin on to quick and quick to pin on. Maybe even with these bucket converters you can't use a thumb and have to swap the entire connection unit:confused: I don't know.

I would keep it on the list and keep looking. If it were in better shape and/or willing to bargain more. I don't know what your plans are, but I'm going to be taking up and moving a lot of trees. I've taken one up at my place and two that at my neighbors and it would have been substantially more difficult without the thumb. A couple were just little shrubs and I was simply able to pluck them without even touching the ground. At $25k now, to make it $28k with a thumb, there's better deals. Now if you could get him down to $20k-$22k and make it $25k with the thumb, your getting a much better deal IMO.

My biggest issue is being tractorless for a while. I should have thought about selling mine over the winter since I don't use it much then. But of course the market is softer then also. With spring fast approaching I really can't afford to be without a machine. I've gotten by without a thumb so I know I can live without it and just add it later. I'm going to price a replacement hood, fender and timing bar and go from there.

I've found another one at a Deere industrail dealer close by and it's cherry but I feel over priced. Instead of the deere qa bucket (on the hoe) it's all Wain-roy. So not sure how that'd work with the thumb.

The 110 seems kind of large to be in the woods with, I've got some hunting/vaca land that I'm planning on improving so the 110 would shine there but it I still feel the 3320 is alot better fit around my house. Since I can't keep both I guess I just gotta go with it.

I'm struggling to price out my 3320 and attachments at this point also.
The machine is garaged and in very good condition, has 448 hoe, 4in1 bucket, root grapple, rock bucket, snow plow, box blade, 60 brush bull, pallet forks and I could be talked into selling my harley rake. I'm thinking 26K seems like a fair place to start. Only 365 hrs, I've looked a the local dealers and feel like I'm a fair bit lower than they are.

Thoughts?

All of your 'goodies' are definitely worth quite a bit of money. The problem I see is, if your buyer doesn't want the extras, it's priced higher than the rest. Not often you see a dealer selling a machine with all the extra's like that, unless it's made specifically for that machine and that machine only. They get more profit out of selling everything separate. To the right buyer, though, that machine is worth thousands more than a comparable 3320. I'm working on selling my 3120 to my neighbor, then if I ever need it again, I can have it for a while. Looking at Used Tractors For Sale at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, tractors for sale, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Kubota I think that you could sell it for that amount, but you may want to consider selling the tractor with loader and backhoe at a lower price with option to buy the attachments separate and if they don't sell, take them to a dealer and trade in for larger attachments. My $.02.

I would definatly benefit from selling it separately. My only issue is with hadling of the attachments. If the tractor goes first I'll have no way to move the other items.
