Howdy! I'm considering a used IH 574. How can I identify the year it was manufactured? Any opinions on durability & reliability of the synchro tranny?

I have a 574 had it for 4 years my traney will only go in 1st or 2nd it was this way when i bought it and have never fixed sit. It had 4 newtires and a front loader and bush hog. I had the tires filled with foam before I took it to the farm (1450 lbs) . You can just stay on the seat in 2nd so no need to fix the traney but I will never have a flat. It is the best starting I ever owned the only problem is breaking hoses in the brush. I rebuilt oneof the loader cyl for $50. and have changed the oil and hydro oil and thats about it.
