The 2720 has arrived.

My new 2720 was delivered about noon Friday. I did not know they were coming, because the delivery guy forgot to call me. I was only able to get a couple of pictures of the delivery because I had not yet brought my 2320 trade-in up from the barn.

After they left, I drove the 2720 into the shop to mount the front hitch from the 2320 on it.
I soon found out that I needed different mounting parts, although the salesman assured me I just moved everything over. I spent most of the afternoon finding out the parts I needed & getting them ordered. In that process I discovered that grill guard was not installed correctly & was very difficult to fold down. They had not installed the spacers between the frame & guard mounting brackets. The parts will be in the end of this week.

After getting the parts ordered I decided to build mobile carts for the mower deck & tiller.

Yesterday since it was very muddy, all I could do was move the equipment out to the barn. I did not get much seat time, but I got enough to know that I made the right choice. I was expecting a 2320 with more power & faster hydraulics. What I got was the sound & feel I remembered of the JD 4400 I had several years ago.

The power difference of the 2720 & the 2320 in amazing. Our property is sloping. I used the 2320 a lot as a fork lift. When I had the loader, forks & ballast mounted, I had to have the 2320 in low range & run at high RPM just to move the tractor with no load on the forks. Add a load & I had to run at full RPM & it still struggled. The 2720 with the same setup, in high range & running 1500 RPMs had not trouble at all. I did not even hear the tone of the engine change.

The other improvement I have seen so far is how much more stable the 2720 is over the 2320 when driving over the same uneven ground. The 2320 moved around a lot more than the 2720 does. I am sure the added weight of the 2720 has something to do with that.

I will update as I get more seat time.

Congratulations! Sweet tractor -- that is definitely a worthwhile upgrade from the 2320.

I have a feeling the safety police won't like that tie-down job the delivery man used. It's looking a bit sketchy, though the trailer appears to be on it's last legs too!

I have a feeling the safety police won't like that tie-down job the delivery man used. It's looking a bit sketchy, though the trailer appears to be on it's last legs too!

I also was not impressed with the way the tractor was tied down. The straps were not heavy enough & hooked in a way that if tractor shifted at all, the straps would unhook. When he loaded the 2320, I did show him how to hook the straps so they could not come unhooked. He commented on his own that he had the wrong straps.

The trailer was not as bad as it looks in the picture, It did have some rust on the wheels & fenders $ was beat up. The trailer bed & frame were solid it just needs a little repair & some paint. The truck & trailer were also dirty. If I knew nothing about the dealer & saw the truck & trailer out on the road, I would not have a very high opinion of them. Their store & shop are the opposite of the truck & trailer. They are clean & well maintained.

Great looking tractor. I had one with fel and bh.this is one tough little-big tractor. I did not have (0) problems with mine.

I haven't used OSB for flooring but I do recognize that the better cabinet and furniture shops use wood floors. Less chance of damage to wood pieces if dropped on the floor.

The OSB has held up very well for the flooring. I build the building in 1991. I put 2 coats of polyurethane on the OSB then & have done nothing to it since.

Wood floors are also easier on dropped tools & my legs & knees.

Nice looking tractor. You will love the difference between the 2320 and the 2720. Also the 655 tiller is great piece of equipment.

Nice carts for the mower and tiller.

I traded in a 2305 and took delivery of my 2720 in late October 2011. Mowed the grass once before it went dormant for the winter.

Only problem so far is the misalignment of the holes for the ROPS pins. I keep a large rubber mallet handy.

The OSB has held up very well for the flooring. I build the building in 1991. I put 2 coats of polyurethane on the OSB then & have done nothing to it since.

Wood floors are also easier on dropped tools & my legs & knees.

I can for sure understand that, my shop is all cement and a 8 hour day out in is tough on the joints. But i weld mostly so a wood floor would be a option.
