Hello All,

Would like to hear from anyone that has built from scratch their own 1 bottom turn over / moldboard plow. I done a search here and found were someone had posted a good source for buying the moldboard and share of various widths, but never really seen anyone that has built their own plow.
I am going to try and tackle building a single bottom 16" turn over plow with coulter and hopefully gauge wheel on it.
I scoured the internet and couldn't find any 'blueprints' of any design. I know I could in time buy a good used one,for what I'll end up in the one I am going to build but I am just wanting to 'do it myself".

Thanks,
Barry

I, too, was thinking of building a moldboard plow. One iteration of thought was to cut a 'diagonal' section out of a 250gal propane tank for the moldboard (from the 2/3 of it left over from cutting my snow blade). I poked around looking for plans, dimensions or geometry for a DIY, but didn't come up with anything. I was going to start looking for patent drawings, but I ended up finding/buying a 3pt 2-bottom in pretty decent shape off CL for only $75, which I figured was easily less than I'd have into materials... only problem now is I need to get a bigger tractor to be able to pull it! I'm considering removing one half to turn it into a single bottom... but then again a bigger tractor would come in pretty handy, and turning 3 acres would go, well, at least twice as fast. Hmmm.
