Took delivery of my X530 with 54" deck today. Heading out to cut the lawn now,... and probably my neighbor's yard too!

Great machine! I bought my X530 just about a year ago from Marvin's also and I love it. I'm looking at the 47" snowblower after the winter we just had.

Josie, I know what you mean about the snow blower, I'm thinking about it myself as well.

Glad to hear you're still loving the X530. Have you serviced it yourself? Have you sharpened the blades yet?

Mark, holy cow! You do some riding on that bike of yours!

Ursa - yes I have been servicing it myself. I have sharpened the blades about 3 times so far in a year.

A good investment would be the Brush Guard it saved my hood quite a few times from being scrached.

I had an X500 and that was one great machine!

Congratulations, you've got one beautiful toy....tool!

Hey, like the reflection

Congratulations on a very nice mower:thumbsup:

Can't see the reflection of you and the hound, are you the German Shepherd? If so you are one of the better looking members on tbn.

The x530 is one of my two choices to replace gt225. I would like a larger deck 54" as opposed to current 42" due to expanded lawn. Other choice is bx, but am concerned about manuverability (which no one seems able to answer). Other concern is seat comfort and leaf blow out on the x530. Can you share your experience now that you have gone through summer and fall?
Thank you.

I've found these BXs to be more manuverabil than any garden tractor that I have ever owned. :)

LBrown, what is your uncut turning radius with the 1500?

Sorry, I don't want to hi jack the thread.

I have a BX2350 and a JD x530... While the BX steers very sharp, it is not as maneuverable as the JD. The BX is taller, and with the ROPS, low branches are difficult to avoid. The JD turns very, very sharp, and with fewer rotations of the wheel, making it seem easier when doing a lot of turning. So far, I like the JD's cut better as well. Now, add hills, and the BXs are Billy-goats in 4WD...

Jesseb: thank you- your input, especially because you own the two machines that I am considering. Leaning toward the x530 now, but will need a different seat. I will see what my dealer will do.

I picked up a 530 this past summer for my place in PA and was very happy with it. Since a large part of the lawn I mow is not flat I opted to the 48" deck instead of the 54" and could not be happier with the performance of the tractor or the cut of the deck. Turn is very sharp around obstacles and with the locking differential I have no problem mowing up rough off-camber areas. Overall a very comfortable machine.
