Ask them to do the indepth analysis, but they are NOT to repair it. Specify that on the work order.

Check your mass air flow sensor I had the same problem you are describing.

Glad you got it fixed!

Just an FYI for someone, but you can check the TPS pretty easy with an analogue voltmeter. Back probe to get the ground and signal return and slowly move the throttle all the way thru its motion. The analogue meter's gauge will sweep smoothly between approx 1-5 volts (on ford's anyway). If the needle gets herky jerky or bounces around you have a bad TPS.

Wait til you try to replace the plugs on this motor. The Triton 3 valve motor plugs break off in the hole leaving a piece that needs to be extracted with a special tool. If all goes well its about a half hour a hole. If all does not go well.....
